A nice, quiet campground with a mostly level site. Had clean bathrooms and some of the best tasting water at any campsite across the whole country

Zeer ruime kampeerplek in een prachtig bos met veel schaduw. Alle voorzieningen zoals toiletten, douches, supermarkt, laundry, op loopafstand.

Most sites are pull through so be aware that with bigger units and tree placement you may have trouble. We had site 4 and with our 24 unit we could not pull through we had to back in. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Campground is nicely wooded.

Check-in staff was very friendly. The campsite was well maintained, and the toilet facilities were clean and supplied, except for a clogged up sink. The location was close to trails and shuttle stops. Very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended to visitors to stay at least two nights so to get the most out of exploring the grand canyon.

We enjoyed our stay at Mather campground Aspen loop 004. We woke up one morning to elk passing by our truck camper door. Being from Texas we thought the temperature was nice for July, warm days a cool nights. The showers, bus stop and stores were in walking distance.

I have been to many federal and state campgrounds. I have also been around the country at RV Parks. My point is I have seen a fair variety traveling around. This is the first time I visited a place that did not let you run your generator in the day. They give you two hours in the AM 7-9, and two hours in the PM 6-8. The crazy part is everyone is gone from the campground during the day and everyone is at the campground durning those generator hours. Its makes no sense.

We had to leave one day early and the check in ranger helped us get a refund. Excellent

Very happy with the prices and the end result. Has a phenomenal start at the Grand Canyon. Amenities were as described, location was easy to find and total process was very simple.

Mather is a beautiful campground located inside the GCNP. In my opinion, if you are going to visit the GCNP staying in the park is a must and the campgrounds offer an economic means for doing so. The campground is clean, spacious, shady, and well organized. My only word of warning is that the showers are only operational from 6 am to 1 pm, so you need to plan accordingly. My daughter and I arrived after 3 days of primitive camping with the hopes of taking a shower and we were sadly disappointed.

Mather campground was conveniently located within a mile of the south rim. Our site on the Aspen loop was visited by elk, deer, squirrels and many different birds. Nights were quiet and all neighbors were respectful of others. The showers and laundry facilities were closed due to covid-19 as was the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. We visited in mid-May 2021 in a 25' motorhome.

We stayed at campsite 4. Very nice spot but used the pull-through campsite as a back-in for our 25-foot trailer. Cell coverage worked great at this location.
