great location, beautiful trees, bathrooms are clean and nice, great sites overall. Easy to park and good accessibility compared to other campgrounds. We absolutely loved it and can see why it's so popular.

A good campground in the heart of Grand Canyon Village. Beautiful spots to camp with plenty of trees around! The amenities are good but not excellent, especially in April (2nd week). There is no designated place to do the dishes, except in the restrooms...Showers close at 4 PM and are not very clean; a refurbishment would do a world of good.

Everything was clean, bathrooms are heated. However the water in the bathroom was not heated. That was okay though, we boiled water to wash our dishes. The fireplace has a grill that swings on and off.

Our campsite was 236 at Mather campgrounds I believe. Space was good and flat. Were from Texas so we expected rocks but land was flat and soft enough. Theres a few trees but this space has an opening to see the moon. Short distance from restrooms. Neighbors were great and respectful of quiet hours which is A PLUS. The Grand Canyon is beautiful. We only had 2 nights/3 days and it was for sure NOT enough. Lastly plan for ALL weather. This seems dramatic but trust me. We planned for cold weather since we constantly checked the weather apps, second day was very windy but sunny, day 3 it snowed. Snow was not in our forecast and came out of nowhere!

I can tell you that the place provides what you need to have a great time day and night, quiet and with a beautiful sky. The bathrooms nearby

Guy at the check in window was less than welcoming. Said I was there to check in, the only words he said for whole process was, "what`s your name"? Hands me a map, just cranky. The fire pits have not been cleaned in weeks, at least. One fire log and the flame will be through the grate. Bathrooms were not cleaned in the 3 days we were there. Nice campground, saw elk walk through camp, but the staff here is seriously slacking.

Excellent campground, with large and well situated campsites, and we have returned to Mather several times. Really recommend taking the shuttle in the early morning all the way out to Hermit's Rest and walking the rim trail back to the village. If you get tired you have several shuttle stops to hop back on a shuttle. We like to pack lots of snacks and make a day of it walking the rim. The views are incredible, and even in August there aren't many people on it.

Great campground, especially for a national park. Not too crowded, campsites are nice, big, and spaced out. Bathrooms were always very clean.

Nice place ! We staid 1 night with our two kids (5 and 10). There is appreciated shadow in summer.

The showers were not working and there were no nearby alternatives. Hopefully this is fixed soon.
