The Mather Campground RV and tent-only sites are adequately spaced. The individual sites had fire pits, large picnic tables, and parking space. We had a flat, clear space to pitch our tent. Bathrooms were reasonably stocked and clean, and there was a potable water pump nearby. At $18 per night, the campsite was very good value for the money. There was vehicle noise from the surrounding roads, but camping in the park helped us get an early start in hiking the South Rim before the crowds began arriving around 10 AM.

Our camping spot was a quiet spot among the trees. We liked that there was a laundry room. There are also showers but the room was very cold and the water jet was narrow.

Great sites, very nice rangers. Sites were spacious and well maintained. Easy to walk to the showers, then to the market and all things Grand Canyon.

We hiked to Phantom to camp, then Indian Garden to Camp, then Mather. The volunteers on the trail at Bright Angel were very helpful. All employees except one gift shop cashier were very pleasant and helpful.

Campsites wide open with no seclusion but you know the sites are for a quick break and sleeping as you're going to be at the canyon all day anyway. Had a great time, reasonable rules, easy in and easy out.

Highly recommended this campsite. I love that it is so close to the Market Plaza. It was easy to stop by the grocery store for little things. I also like the hot shower facility. Wish it is newer and more stalls available, but the $2.50 for 5 minutes hot shower is a steal. I appreciate the distance between each site and all campers were respectful to each other. We enjoyed it lot. Vince from Dallas

Awesome campground! Each campsite feels private

Very convenient campground to the kaibab trailhead with the nicest heated and clean restrooms I have ever experienced. The other campers may be a little inexperienced with camping etiquette and noise levels but the campground itself was worth the price

Great hikes nearby, close to Mather point.

The campground was nice and well maintained. Juniper site 144 was pretty rocky so I was glad to have some thicker tent stakes. It was big enough for my large tent. The drinking water was good and the bathroom was clean.
