It was awesome! It was so fun getting to see such a beautiful reserve and be a part of something a lot greater than ourselves. My friend and I went for our spring break trip and it couldn't have been less planned, but the park rangers and everyone working there was such a help.

Mather campground is great, nice and spread out, and pretty quiet with good parking, a table and fire ring. The restrooms are nearby, clean and well stocked with toilet paper and soap. Security comes by every evening around dusk I think to make sure all is in order. The pay showers are nice but the individual stalls are small. To put on my socks and shoes, I went outside to a nice sitting area in the shade. I observed no litter anywhere except for what had blown over the rim. The Park is well run. I would recommend they add more shuttle buses at times as many times it was standing room only. Convenient but too crowded. The Bright Angel Trail and South Kaibab Trail are well maintained. Pleasant experience overall. The 20+ mile drive east to the Watchtower is well worth it. Fewer people and interesting.

Our site(151) was fabulous. The camp area was very clean, and the elk wandering through a real bonus.

Great area. Clean bathrooms. Helpful ranger at check-in. Only drawback was lack of shower facilities after 4 pm....which doesn't help after a full day of hiking.

Paid showers should be open for use.

The campground was great! It was clean and all the amenities we needed for tent camping. The only problem was that the showers were closed, but this was due to Covid restrictions.
