We had site #24, and though it was the farthest site to reach, it was glorious. Our neighbors were hardly in view, and were far enough away that they were unable to be heard. The Elk do come near sites, so just ensure you have nothing hanging that will catch on them.

An amazing spot remote enough to be away from the throng but still on the rim. Gorgeous!!!

Great place to watch stars, away from the crowds, but minutes from the rim with beautiful views.

Perfect, small campground that attracts seasoned campers and little noise. 10 minute walk to Grand Canyon rim for alone time, sunrises, and sunsets. Great birding and attentive host. Clean facilities, no litter, conscientious visitors.

Beautiful and peaceful. The restrooms were a little bit far from our site but overall it was not a big deal. Would love to stay again.

Camping trs agrable au calme loin de la foule du grand canyon.A quelques minutes pied des points de vue pour les couchers et levers de soleil

Peaceful stay. Big, clean site. Bathrooms were well cleaned and hosts were extremely nice and helpful. Several things within walking distance. A small gas station with ice, firewood and some other camping needs. Theres also a general store with souvenirs and a deli inside. Next, youll find a trading post with native findings and an ice cream & coffee shop inside. The watchtower was a bit too crowded for me. You can see the Colorado River from multiple other view points.Lots of nature and a resident elk may even stroll thru your site. Beautiful views. I will be back.

What made Desert View Campground exceptional was the camp hosts. They were so kind and helpful upon my arrival, making me feel comfortable and excited about my time at Grand Canyon! They were knowledgable about the best hikes for the amount of time I had at GC. It makes all the difference staying at a campground that has hosts who genuinely care are their guests' experiences!Facilities were clean and accessible. I stayed in site 24 with a tent and had lots of space and privacy. (There is a path from the campground that leads to the rim of GC, and it is absolutely beautiful.)I would DEFINITELY recommend this campground!

A nice little campground near the Watchtower, without hookup. It is a shame, though, that so many sites were reserved with no show. Because people reserve more days than they actually use. A pity for the campers who would like to stay there without the possibility!

Wish I had used my earplugs to cancel out the car alarm going off in the middle of the night. Twice in one night.

We got in after dark but was still pretty easy to find our spot. It was pretty crowed but the sites were open enough to feel comfortable.

Great small campground with a quieter, more intimate feel than the larger campground at Mather. Happy to have access to restrooms, water, and a sink for dishwashing. Close proximity to canyon view points.

Quiet. Short walk to canyon rim. Love this spot.

Very nice campground. It is small with sites fairly close to one another but a view of the Canyon was in walking distance along with a hike to the Watchtower. Bathrooms were clean and the campground host was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous.

The campground host, Chris, kept the campground and campsites spotless. The campsites are far enough apart that I didn't feel crowded and it was very quiet. There is a mostly unused trail from the campground directly to the rim with incredible views and no crowds.

Solid campground with a beautiful view of the night sky and a short walk to an incredible view.

Quiet well spaced out camp sites. Not near any popular trails but we hiked hours around the rim.

This was without doubt the best campground we stayed at during our one week trip in the southwest. It was quiet and clean, and the manager was so welcoming and friendly. There was also a utility sink behind the toilet block, which was great because the sink in our camper died during our stay. The only downside was that the privately run showers at the park were closed due to Covid, which meant that the closest showers to us were 60 miles away, but that was certainly not the fault of the campground!
