Amazing experience! The ranger entroduced us to the most beatiful spot for sunrises and milkyway view. Unfortunately, no sewer drops and water refilling for my RV, but the campground postion is fantastic. Very close to the Grand Canyon parking lot, campfires allowed.

Wonderful location and peaceful. The sites are small & a little too close to each other, but there's foliage in between that gives a bit of privacy. The bathrooms are clean. There was a truck with a trailer that couldn't fit into the nearby site after trying multiple times. You need to make sure your vehicle fits the dimensions listed as this campground is for smaller vehicles.

Very quiet and clean. Overall good experience. Except the camp host or ranger told us the store was closed at 5pm, only to find out the market opens until 8pm. And there is a gas station nearby also sells some supply that opens late. Because of the bad information, we did not have campfire that night because we did not buy any firewood.

If you're looking for a fantastic camping experience at the Grand Canyon, look no further than Desert View Campground! The camp hosts here are super friendly and always ready with a warm welcome. The campsites and restrooms are impressively clean, and there's even a handy little dish washing stationhow convenient is that?I loved staying at the east entrance of the park. It made for easy access to the Desert View area, which is absolutely stunning and way less crowded than the main village. Plus, it's only a 25-minute drive to the main entrance and trails, so you get the best of both worlds.Desert View Campground is the perfect spot to soak in the beauty of the Grand Canyon without all the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our three night stay in April 2024. Not exactly the biggest campsites, but we found the campground to be overall very peaceful and quiet. No dump station on site -- if you need to dump, you can head to Mather campground back by the village. There are potable water spigots throughout the campground, however, as well as a restroom. There are no electric hookups, and generator hours are limited to specific time windows in the morning and evening.Just a short walk away is the Desert View section of the park, complete with market, cafe, gas station, and great views of the canyon. Highly recommend going up into the watch tower. Park staff hand out free tickets for entry to the upper floors of the tower every 20 minutes, as there is limited space inside. Unfortunately, there is no park shuttle that connects the Desert View area to the village -- you will need to plan to get yourself over there if desired.

We enjoyed our stay. Good, clean sites adequately spaced out. We chose a site relatively close to the bathroom for convenience. This campground was very close to Desert View Watchtower (built 1932) attraction which features the unique stone tower built by Mary Colter.

Fantastic experience. Beautiful outdoor location very close to many services at desert view. Highly recommended.

Very peaceful, quiet and small campground. This campground offers a nice contrast to the busy Mather campground. Not a lot of services or amenities so be prepared. The host was very helpful and welcoming. There wasn't a lot to do near the Watchtower, but perfect if you want a relaxing quiet time near the rim of the canyon to watch the sunrise.

Fantastic experience! I camp often all around the US and the Desert View site we used provided privacy and a peaceful environment. I would highly recommend.

Cmpground is within walking distance or a short drive to the Watchtower.
