Very calm, beautiful campsite with direct access to a "private" non-touristic viewpoint of the canyon.

Much quieter than the other campgrounds in Grand Canyon, decently clean bathrooms with a utility sink and potable water. Sites were spaced far enough apart to feel a little private and best of all, it was a 5-10min walk from Desert View Tower overlook, which was an excellent spot for sunset and sunrise

My recent stay at the Desert View Campground was nothing short of spectacular, offering a truly exceptional Grand Canyon experience far removed from the typical crowds. This is a genuinely amazing campsite that perfectly balances accessibility with solitude, and it will definitely be our go-to spot for future visits. What immediately set Desert View apart was the incredible scenery and the lack of crowds. Unlike the main Grand Canyon Village viewing areas, which can feel hectic, Desert View provided a peaceful, intimate experience. The views from the campground area were all the "right views"stunning, expansive, and deeply inspiringbut we often felt like we had them all to ourselves. The campground itself is thoughtfully designed. The sites are very well spaced, offering a comfortable sense of privacy and quiet. This excellent spacing contributed significantly to the relaxed atmosphere, allowing us to fully appreciate the natural surroundings without being on top of our neighbors. For anyone looking to capture the awe of the Grand Canyon while maintaining a sense of peace and tranquility, Desert View Campground is the perfect choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and are already planning our return. We will certainly be back again next year!

We missed a dumping station and showers.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Desert View. One of our favorite views was watching the sunrise from the campground trail that over looks the canyon. From there you can see a portion of the Colorado River. We stayed in campsite 42 found it clean, private and spacious for our 2 tents and a short walk to the bathroom, water pump, and dumpster. We also utilized the gas station just outside to get a lighter, wood, and smore supplies. I also noticed that they carry a variety of MREs and had a fridge of other ready to eat food. The campground seemed to have the atmosphere of early to bed and early to rise. We were part of it too- getting up early to get to the trails before it was too hot. A great stay for our family. Thanks GCNP!

If you're looking for a quiet place to camp, enjoy nature, and easily see the Grand Canyon, this campground is just about perfect. It feels like a classic, small national park campground: there aren't too many sites, they're reasonably well spread apart, and the outside of the loop feels completely wide open to nature. In contrast to, say, Mather Campground over by the village, there are very few organized attractions, tours, and the like.

Close encounters to trees driving around circle. Be careful. Has a dishwash sink behind restrooms which is convenient.

Amazing campsite that was perfect in every way but one - loud crows at dawn :) very clean and sites on outer loop have separation and privacy

Great little campground. Sites are a little small but very quiet and peaceful. Close to the rim for picture taking.

This campground is great, campsites are big, most of them with some shade, the bathrooms are clean, no showers, camp hosts are nice and you can bike to watch the sunset at the canyon.
