This campground is the perfect location to watch the sunrise. There is a direct path from the campground. Amnits were clean. Loved my stay

The best Place for Camping

The location is amazing. Our spot (site 15) has very good space and a conveniently placed rock to rest our feet from the trunk of our SUV. The campground is pitch black during the night and we can see the entire sky. There were almost no insects and the bathroom was very clean. The only problem was our particular site was too windy to set up our tent and we had to sleep in our car instead.

The campground was simply beautiful and relaxing. Bathrooms clean, and everyone seemed to respect quiet hours and leave-no-trace principle. An immaculate campground - wonderful!

Fantastic campground to serve as a base to explore the park. Feels safe and has a fair amount of privacy. No electrical/ water hook ups but fair hours to run a generator. Also has a gas station next door. Park staff are present and friendly.

Was lovely being greeted by the onsite hosts even after sunset, which was perfect at the incredibly close desert view watchtower. They had great tips on view points - sunrise just beyond the campsite boundary. Nice and quiet location. Beautiful dark skies.

Good location for eastern end of the canyon, then drive to visitor center and catch shuttle to the village area.

We had a wonderful stay at the Desert View campground! It was the perfect location for us - we were able to make several stops to see the canyon on our drive in and it was an easy walk in the morning to catch a beautiful sunrise.

Though a distance from the GC village, this is a quiet, well-spaced campground among the pines. We drove to the village one day and hiked a bit down Bright Angel. The next day, we stayed on the East end of the park. The lookouts and views are just as gorgeous, but it's much, much quieter.

Weather was wonderful, restrooms clean, all is well <3 I learned how easy it is to hike to the Watchtower!

Super nice campsites, nice people all around. The park host was a really cool guy, I think his name was Alan. Super helpful.

We absolutely loved our stay at Desert View! It was a beautiful campground with nice spots and some elbow room too. The campground host was very helpful and nice. The bathroom facilities were clean with easy access to everything we needed. It was nice to have a common area dish washing station as well! We will definitely be going back again to stay longer than just two nights!!
