This is a fantastic place ! Away from the crowds, only 5 minutes walk from the rim of the canyon and only 3 minutes drive or 15 minutes walk from desert view tower with extensive breathtaking views and welcoming and friendly staff. There is even a deli and a Starbucks there !?! We spent 3 idyllic days there and were sad to leave

Shaded sites, easy to get in and out, clean rr and helpful park staff. Showers would be excellent, even if primitive.

Check-in was smooth and easy. Campground hosts were friendly. The bathroom was clean and well kept. No showers at this site but can be found at the main entrance camper services 25 miles west. The inner loop may get snug if a larger group with tents arrive. Desert View area has gas station, gift shop, small store, and small cafe.

Desert View Campground is really nice and located in a quiet area with lots of trees. Reserved Site #10, which is located directly across from the restroom and located right next to the only water spigot (I believe) in the campground. Note that Site #10 may not comfortably fit an rv longer than 25 but it is a level site. There is a gas station conveniently located next to the campground. Nearest Dump Station is at Mather Campground. AT&T cell service is touch and go.

This is a small campground with a mix of RV and tents. The road is one way circle, you get a lot of road traffic when people are coming and going.There is no raised tent site, so you need to pick your site carefully. During my stay it rained two nights and quite a lot of water was running through my camp site. The was intermittent water issues, but there is running water for the restrooms. It is located within walking distance of the watchtower, which on a clear day has a amazing sunset. The color changes on the tower were vibrant. There is a gas station/store to get small stuff, but if you need some better supplies you are 23 miles from the main village supermarket.

Great campsite, friendly camp host. Nice to be in a less busy part of the park. We enjoyed the different views on the east rim of the canyon, as well as the walking trail from the campground that took you right out to the rim.

The site was amazing. The grounds were kept very clean and the bathroom was very neat. The camp host was very informative and friendly. The short hike to the rim of the canyon was perfect. I can't wait to camp there again!
