Site B58 is not great. St. Mary CG is very open, and this site includes views of the bathroom and a powerline dangling overhead. It's a weird site, with a shared driveway. The Recreation.gov description rambles on about the necessity to share the adjacent site with friends if you have an RV, otherwise it's a "tent only" site. We didn't realize this and pulled our RV into the site. The adjacent site was unoccupied when we went to bed, but the next morning a large motor-home was parked there. They apparently had no trouble backing into their site in the dark.Like all the other GNP campgrounds we stayed in this week, there were MANY reserved sites that went unoccupied. That's very frustrating given the difficulty of reserving a site in GNP. There needs to be a bigger penalty for not canceling a reservation, and users shouldn't be charged a fee when they cancel.

Nice campground with free showers. Site B58 was very strange though - the water spigot for this area of the campground was in the very back of my campsite, so dozens of people a day awkwardly walked into my site (past me and all my camping setup) to grab their water. Really don't understand why they wouldn't put the spigot in a communal location...
It was really annoying to have almost no privacy at my site because of this, but obviously it's not the fault of the people just trying to get water. The park really messed up when they designed this site...

Otherwise, the location of the campground is great and there was decent cell reception.

I loved staying at St Mary campground. Clean and tidy campground and facilities. My site had some privacy with trees though not all spots due. 4/5 stars since the showers were not available. Excellent spot for getting out early to hikes, especially up to Logans Pass.

Campground is a good location if you want access to groceries, restaurants, supplies at nearby St. Mary. Our campsite was a little small for our big tent, and didn't have much flat space. Showers were very nice and cheap, but evening wait times were about 30-45 minutes to get in. This campground is one of the few if not the only reservable space campground in the park. Not a lot of tree cover, but decent privacy from other campsites. Couldn't remain in the campsite (next night was reserved) so I did the early morning trek to Rising Sun and got a spot that I could secure for multiple nights. That took about two hours and I was 14th in line at Rising Sun. One of the prices to pay for visiting during the peak visiting season in late July, early August.
