St. Mary Campground inside Glacier National Park was quiet and many sites had trees/shrubbery for privacy. One of the only places in the entire park that has a cell signal. Flushing toilets, a few showers in Loop C, potable water, ranger programs at 8 PM, some accessible sites, picnic tables, fire rings, path to the visitor center, non-electric sites. No timed reservation needed for Going to the Sun Rd when you enter from the St Mary side which was a plus.

Easy access sites. Relatively clean. Could use more showers.

No showers?? There was a nice shower facility there with 4 showers, but it is closed for the season--WHAT? After hiking in 90+ degree heat a shower is a necessity (if not for me, at least for those I'm sharing a tent with!). The closest shower is a single one in Rising Sun campground, and it closes at 8PM. At LEAST keep that one open 24/7, or better yet bring in a portable shower trailer while the roof is being replaced in the building. There is just a general level of shabbiness there: Unfriendly gate attendants, barely working toilets, empty toilet paper holders, poor signage, etc, etc.And I used to LOVE Glacier NP--It started going downhill about 10 years ago. I think they are trying to get rid of all the humans and turn it back into wilderness. An Unhappy Camper

The biggest complaint for me was that there was one bear box per bathroom, not a bear box at each site. How do you expect people to be responsible and bear safe when you dont provide enough bear boxes?? Second complaint was the sites are pretty close together. I managed to get a spot last minute and it was beautiful and spacious enough for the two of us, but many of the sites are relatively small. Overall, its a nice campground with running water and flush toilets, showers available seasonally ( though they werent open when we went in July), and easy access to the better side of Going to the Sun Road.
