Such a beautiful campground! It was a great place to spend the 4th of July with my dogs - away from the fireworks in town!

The map does not distinguish that spots A19 and A21 have a HUGE trail between them, our group was split up the whole time which made the whole trip feel disconnected. If booking 2 spots, do not book these together. Additionally, on the map, it appears like the spots are right in front of the water in A loop but there are legitimately 2 stories of narrow stairs you have to go down to access the water. Our group had 6 hard shell kayaks we brought with us and it took us 45 minutes to get everything down to the water and even longer to get everything back up, this made it so we only got in the water 1 time due to the extreme effort. The campground as a whole was pleasant, the showers were average, we saw a black bear outside of camp which was cool and still had an okay time.

When we arrived the campers at the site in front of ours had blocked our entrance with their car. We we not able to pull into the site with the trailer. Unfortunately we were unable to stay at the site. We went to look for the host and was told they were on break. The only helpful person was the bathroom custodian. They went out of there way to help us find a spot. When a ranger finally came to assist the only solution was to park our Airstream in the rangers parking lot. This was the only place to stay because the park was full. There was a lot of confusion on the rangers and hosts part. The campground itself is huge and jam packed. Overall, not a great experience at all.

Loved the site with the sound of the flowing creek and a view of Lake McDonald through the trees. Nice quiet campground with great neighbors.

The campground is lovely and easy to access, as well as close to the amenities in Apgar. The only negative was there was no hot water in the showers, which made bathing pretty chilly!
