This was a very nice spacious campground on the Western edge of Glacier. Great access to starting your trip up the Road to the Sun or for going into West Glacier if needed.

I thought the campground was fantastic.

Despite saying its reserve sites only, we drove up and walk in sites for the days we were staying at Glacier. (which is great because other camp sites, despite saying there were open sites on the nps website, were actually full!) The D loop sites we stayed at were great. Near the lake side, flat and large. The C loop site was on a slope and very small, our 8 person tent barely fit on it. There are potable water spigots all over and bathrooms pretty close to all sites. Showers are ONLY at Loop A and you cant park there. You have to park at the amphitheater and walk to Loop A to shower.

Perfect location in the park. Beautiful lake McDonald out your back door. Lake was so refreshing after all day hiking. Water was perfect temperature. Walk down to lake after dark to get a glimpse of the stars. Campground Was clean with centrally located restrooms. Food must be kept in hard shell of truck or share a food stash bin close by. Squirrels are always watching when food is out. Saw several deer in camp.
