Lakeside was beautiful. Campsites were uneven, packed in and dark under dense trees. Bathhouses, wash facilities and toilets were not operational. Portable toilets were filled to the brim. Four days no showers. This campground does NOT include a pass to the sun road. Needed to obtain a timed entry pass. No internet at campground. We brought a Starlink Mini that we had to leave the campground to find a sky view. It worked great and we were able to get passes.

Glacier National Park is an astonishingly gorgeous landscape that highlights the majestic beauty that only nature can provide. From landscapes to wildlife, each experience is a magical memory. We were lucky to experience the park before an unexpected winter event swept through the area! An amazing experience overall. I managed to snag a reservation by staying up over two weeks to try and get a campground starting from the day reservations opened up. If you time it right, you may get lucky. I feel like what you need most is determination and luck. Happy hunting. If you are interested in some exclusive pastries, the Huckleberry Bear Claws in Polebridge are a definite thing to try. There is a nice trail nearby to enjoy and this is where we were delighted to spy a red fox trotting down the road with dinner in its maw. A rare treat indeed.Going to the sun road is best experienced when it is all to yourself. Unfortunately that is a tall ask for such a popular road. We faired best by getting up early to make our way slowly up to Logan Pass and through to St Mary. Stopping along the way where was something that looked interesting. A leisurely adventure. The Many Glacier area was closed for a good portion of our trip, but that just means we have a reason to visit again, though there are limitless excuses to make future trips to Glacier National Park. We will visit again because it was love at first sight.

Liked the location of the campground in the park. Loop C had a path leading to Rocky Point Trail which offers less busy Lake McDonald beaches than Apgar. However, every time we wanted a shower we had to drive and park in the picnic area. Then hike up stairs to the only 3 showers for the entire campground, which usually had only cold water. The campground needs to add showers to the other loops. There was a black bear that frequented our campsite, they should probably work on relocating them if they are reliably there, as we were told. The next camper may not be so careful. Word to the wise, a reservation at Fish Creek does not get you on Going to the sun road! Yes you are already in the park but there is a second checkpoint after the West Entrance! They will turn you around.
The camp ground is very nice. They are VERY serious about their bear safety precautions. You can not keep anything out at your campsite. Not even dry non food items. We have camped at many National parks and have never encountered this. There is only one bear box for every 6-8 campsites. So, don’t bring anything you can’t keep in your vehicle ALL the time.
We were only able to get a reservation for two nights but when we asked at the campground they were able to give us two choices for a three night stay where we did not have to move. I really enjoyed the different ranger programs. The campground was quiet and you can take a free shower at the shower house in loop A.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
