Great location along SW shore of Lake McDonald for exploring the west side of the GTTS road. Enjoyed rocky/gravel beach for swimming/sunning; most campsites are adequately private. ONLY negative is shower temperature was only slightly warmer than the lake temperature. :)

We stayed in A20 and I was so nervous prior to our arrival because the spot information showed 21 as the limit for the vehicle and trailer together. Our trailer is 19 alone, so I was nervous we wouldnt fit not fit. We ended up fitting just fine, thankfully! Directly across the stairs that goes down to the lake and close to the bathrooms. Some people dont like being that close to the restrooms but honestly it wasnt bad, not too many people walking by and it wasnt loud. Such a beautiful spot, and grateful we were able to stay here.

The campground itself was wonderful peaceful and well kept up and relatively flat. My only criticism is the fact that while there are four loops of campsites, the only place that there are showers is in loop a. And when we were there two of the four available showers were out of order. That is a lot of campsites for only two showers.

We really enjoyed our nights in the generator free A loop. This site had both sun and shade so our solar could charge but our camper didn't get scorching hot inside. The showers are handy as they are only in the A loop bath house. Another feature of A loop is the stairs to the picnic area take you right down to the Lakeside. The ampitheater is nearby also.

Very comfortable campground! Short walk down to lake McDonald, plentiful water, and showers!

Great campground on the shore of Lake McDonald. The lake was not as cold as many mountain lakes and is a great place to swim and recreate. This is also an ideal location for making day trips around Glacier Park for hiking, and sight seeing. The campsites are a bit closer together than some other sites, so it is not real private. Showers are great, but do get cold late in the day when there are a lot of people returning from their hikes.
