The campground was right on lake McDonald, which was gorgeous. The facilities had everything we needed too!

I tend to over-analyze and read too many reviews trying to get "just the right" thing - in this case camp site. However, due to the nerve-wracking reservation process and the need to get two spots close together, I wasn't able to be as particular and just took what we got. What we got were two wonderful sites in the A Loop. I believe they were A27 and A31. We needed a site for a 20' trailer and one for a bigger tent. Originallly we had planned on having the trailer on the outer loop and the tent on the inner loop (I don't remember which site was which) but we ended up switching them as the inner loop site had a tent pad that we thought would be too small for our "8 person" tent and the outer loop site had a large flat area that fit our tent well. While not directly next to each other, they were close enough that we could walk between sites easily and still felt like we were together. I feel like we had enough privacy between other sites but may have felt differently if our sites had been around the bend in the loop. That area felt more congested. Our sites were far enough from the bathroom so as not to be bothered by it but close enough to be easily accessible. While on the topic of the bathrooms, I will agree with most reviews that I read about the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers and the lack of hot water. I took 2 showers, both early morning. One morning it was nice and warm, the next it was freezing cold. Same shower. Same time of day. I guess I should be happy that there were showers at all but just understand that you don't know what you are going to get! Other plusses: there was potable water and a bear box conviently located to our site and we were a short walk to the path to the Fish Creek picnic area, which had a great little beach if you decide to venture into the water. Finally, everyone seemed to respect the generator times (as a tenter, I was a little worried about that) and quiet times. Overall, very pleased!

We loved Fish Creek! Sites were lovely and roomy, located in the forest, next to Lake MacDonald. We had dog walks and fished and swam. There is an amphitheater with Ranger talks about pertinent topics. We will return!
