Lovely site, close to the lake and bathrooms (but not too close). Unfortunately the C-loop bathrooms were not working, but the porta potties were always clean and D loop facilities were not too far away.I have a large tent, and it fitted easily on the site. Some of the others around were much smaller. The access is not suitable for RV trailers or motor homes but would fit a Van fine.Access to the lake was easy, and I was able to carry my Kayak down easily.Plenty of shade, which made the site lovely and cool all day, but made my solar panels a bit useless, but I made a plan to keep my solar generator charged to keep my fridge operating. The camp hosts were fantastic and very helpful and everything was clean and well maintained. It was a perfect holiday in a beautiful corner of the country.

Major Issues

Our campsite was beautiful and every staff member or ranger that we met was super nice! The campground itself was also fairly well maintained. My biggest issue was that there is only ONE working shower area for the ENTIRE campground (all loops). Unfortunately, whenever we tried to shower, most of the stalls were closed and there was usually a long line. Additionally, the shower areas were absolutely disgusting, with bugs and mud smeared over the walls, floors, and bench. The water was also not hot at all, in any of the bathrooms. The bathroom in C loop was usually pretty clean, but had no hot water for handwashing. The hand dryer in the bathroom was also not working and there were no paper towels to make up for it. In terms of activities, do NOT plan on using the shuttles during your trip. We had to wait over 2 hours to board the shuttle at Apgar Visitors Center and another hour to come back down from Logans Pass. If you have a vehicle, try to wake up early and get on Going-to-the-Sun Rd. before the timed entry. Get on the road before 5am if you want to park at Logans Pass.

Great site, no huge but perfect for our 8x8 tent/suv tent, flat surface, clean, close to bear box, water (no fresh drinking water), bathrooms were nice, shower house was a bit of a hike but not bad when you have such a pretty hike!

We have visited Fish Creek and camped for over 50 years. We haven't been able to go for the past 3 years because of the difficulty of getting a reservation! I would warn anyone who has a big rig to not even try to camp because the sites are small and it is difficult to get around the loops which were built before trailers and RVs were. I feel truly sorry for people who have driven a long distance, and try to get into the park without a reservation or a vehicle permit. The daily permits are available at 8 am the day before and they are gone in 3 minutes!

Beautiful clean sites and bathrooms. Well cared for by rangers and hosts. Easy access to the picnic area and trails around the lake without having to drive.

Beautiful campground with great hosts and very nice rangers working at the entry station. Some campsites are a kind of tight and not level which is a little difficult when coming there with an RV. For camping in a tent the sites are all very good. The RV dump and water refill station is good for RV's of any size.

Every loop of Fish Creek campground was clean and well-maintained. I adore walking through the trees on the soft pine needle floor and emerging at the edge of gorgeous Lake McDonald. The potable water stations are all very nearby. And the shower house, even though a hefty hike away from C loop, was clean and the water was hot. The rangers checking us in were very friendly and welcoming.

This camping trip was the best of our lives! We enjoyed hiking and kayaking but the Red Bus Tour took the cake!
