We had an excellent time at Moss Creek and would love to return in the future. Site 14 is as nice as advertised. We stayed overnight on a Thursday and had the loop to ourselves save for a few walkers heading down to the creek. One thing we realized is that the vault toilet on the map is actually uphill and not as pictured, so if you stay at sites 13 and 14, prepare to hike a bit.Our camp host was very welcoming. The vault toilets at the center of the campground were in great shape. The accessible one was a bit rough. The water was out, but Recreation.gov did a good job notifying in advance, so it wasnt a surprise that dampened our visit.

A great starting off place for good hiking- the trail starting at the campground to the lava butte is a real challenge! downed trees, slippery slopes- easy river crossing early in the year. At 27B I could barely see other campers and, this year, no loud generators or music.

This is my new favorite small campground within easy driving distance of Portland, Oregon. If you can, one of the sites along the Little White Salmon River, youll be very lucky. (My small extended family of 6 were lucky to have done so, and the two kids in our group loved splashing in the river.). The only downside was no potable water, but we were made aware of this and came prepared, so there was no issue. The campground host was very responsive, even though he splits his time between two campgrounds and its not always available on site.

Small spread out camp sites. Very little road noise. Bathrooms are clean and well loved.

Spent 5 Days/4 Nights and am relatively pleased with our stay. While the campsites proper are typically very spacious, set amongst old growth trees and well maintained, vehicle parking is very limited at some site. Parking at our site (#5/on the interior of the loop) was wholly inadequate. It was listed as being able to accommodate up to a 20 foot RV. We have a small "A-Frame" camper (17 feet/end to end) and it did fit into the space provided, the whole space with a few feet to spare. However there was nowhere to park our Ram pickup. we had to park on the other side of the road at my brothers campsite. Had he not been there with us, not sure where we would have. In general this is an older campground with good bones just in need of an good upgrade/redesign. The exterior of the loop is best for both RV's and tent camping. At some point the direction of travel on the loop was reversed. Making some RV parking in some sites greater than 90 degrees. Our site showed evidence of the old direction of travel and was probably at the time one of the better sites. The interior of the loop in general is best suited for car type camping, with just a single vehicle. General river access is limited, between sites 7 & 8 and next to site 14. Their are water spigots throughout the campground, however half were bagged/awaiting maintenance/out of order? A mix of newer and older vault toilets, with paper and natural lighting (bring a flashlight at night) that are well maintained. The campground is next to Oklahoma Road, so some sites (2,4 & 6) might here a little road traffic. during our stay it was minimal during the day and almost nonexistent at night. I love that there is a mix of first come/first serve and reservable sites and the fact that not all the best sites are reservable only. Our campground host were a young couple (new to hosting) and were and an absolute pleasure to meet and work with. Yes I would stay here again and recommend it. Do a pre-trip scout though

We were in sight 8 which is next to the river providing the sound of gentle water flow. We appreciated the quietness of this area of the campground. We did not have much interaction with the hosts but the gentleman had a warm, friendly smile.

Loved this campground. I pulled in and was initially very disappointed because the sites were so close together with no privacy. We were about to leave but I stopped by the host and he showed me to a site that was very big and very private. Site 11, probably the only private spot, it was great and could easily setup 3 tents there. It was a bit loud at night on one of the nights, however we stayed 5 days and by the time we left, we were the only people there. I'll definitely be returning.

Great, small camping site with lots of tree coverage. Our spot was near the stream but the vault toilet was out of commission which was factored into our site choice when we purchased. Regardless, would absolutely stay here again

We loved the campsite. It was spacious, clean, and nicely shaded. We appreciated the water spigot right there at the end of the parking area. The bathrooms were clean and convenient. The camp sites were spread out enough that we felt a lot of privacy and we didn't have any trouble with noise. It was a great place and we would happily come back again in the future.

We were in the lower loop fyi, the vaulted bathroom in that section is roped off and closed. You have to walk up to the upper loop or drive to the other bathrooms. Things to do: The Ice Caves were amazing and fun!

Wed reserved site 14 but when we arrived we found out that the pit toilet in that loop was out of order - and had been for two years we later discovered. We found an empty FCFS site in the main loop and the host let us switch to it. It was a nice site but we discovered that the water faucet for that area was inoperable so we had to walk a short distance around the loop to another water faucet. This is a nice small quiet campground that needs some infrastructure repairs to make it back to its original condition.

I enjoyed the 2 nights I spent at Moss Creek Campground. I want to give a shout out to the Camp Host (I believe he said his name was Jackson). He was informative, polite, friendly and made sure the bathrooms were spotless & the garbage emptied.

Toilets were clean, and the campsites were a good distance apart.

Beautiful camp site on the river. Bathroom was clean. Host was very friendly and shared some knowledge of the local ecology and history of the area. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The location is really peaceful. Camping at #6 was quiet and restful with some road traffic noise during the day. Bathroom door needs repair and campground host not readily available. Nice very cold small river nearby.
@ChristiR571200 · Camped on Aug 3, 2022 at Campsite #8
Nice little campground; however, bathroom was unusable it had so many flies in it.
@KarenB2737002 · Camped on Jul 25, 2022 at Campsite #8
The campground is very peaceful. The sites are large and nicely spaced. However the outhouse need work. One was closed, another the door was ajar. Someone decided to go behind the outhouse instead of in it. We never saw our camp host, which was fine, but we were concerned about their well being as it was 90 plus outside during our visit. A group, 3 vehicles, showed up for an evening picnic. Immediately there was a conflict between their dog and the neighbors, so they moved to a farther site but were still loud and could be heard a quarter mile away.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
