The Drive out from Olympia was beautiful. Roads were not as bad as other reviews claim, there was a patch about a mile long right before camp grounds that is being paved and is currently gravel but passable with a trailer just fine. We had site 21 its a double site and was perfect for two families camping together!
The walk to the falls was quick and easy! Water was cold and the rocks to cross are slippery. If you cross the river stay on the moss pads in the water it will help with your traction. Also don’t go for the first steep trail down to falls, if you go a little further there are two more easier areas to get into the river with Ropes to help with small climb back up. It was easy for kids and elderly to access the river on the rope paths.
This is a great location to camp! The sound of the river at night will put you right to sleep! So peaceful and calming
The bathrooms could use some love and shoot even a light lol! So make sure when your going to the toilet at night you take your flashlights!
Around 11 pm it was pitch black and you could look right up through the canopy of trees to the amazing stars that looked so close you feel like you could touch them!
We can’t wait to go back again next year!
The falls do have some small areas good for kids to swim but for the adults the big swimming area was amazing!
We hope this review helps some people make up their kind in enjoying this area!
Don’t believe some of those other reviews, I feel people are just trying to keep people from seeing how amazing this area was!
Enjoy!!

The campground host was basically non existent, I’ve gone to other campgrounds (La Wis Wis and Adams Fork) and the hosts are involved and super friendly. They don’t sell fire wood at the campground and the closest store is 30 min away (and they definitely don’t have enough wood for all the campsites at this campground if you’re staying for more than two days). NONE of the reserved signs say names or dates. All the sites are reserved because it’s a popular campground but one in three campsites actually had someone in it (which sucks for people who may have wanted to stay there). It was a good camping experience but I have been to less popular campgrounds and had more fun and more involvement from the campground hosts and that’s important for campgrounds if you want quiet times to be respected and the convince of firewood (especially if it’s 30 min to the closest small store and an hour to the closest “town”). No disrespect, all in all is was a good campground and a good trip but to me there were a lot of down sides compared to the awesome campgrounds that are closer to me. The waterfalls are beautiful, but I’d rather day trip it from a better campground.
