The bathrooms were unbearable. There must be something that can be done so theyre not so awful- even flies were dropping dead in them. But the park itself was beautiful. If it wasnt for the bathrooms, we would definitely return.

Beautiful area in old growth forest. Gorgeous hike along the Lewis River. Reservation system is messed up however. Unable to book two consecutive nights in the same campsite, but neither site was occupied on the nights the website said were filled. Camp host wasn’t around.

USFS over-reaction to the crowd problem they caused two years ago by posting Lower Falls on the cover page of the Forest website is unneeded over-kill. Pretense at enforcement with untrained summer crew is unfit for presentation to a Magistrate. Forest administrators arr neither caring for the resource NOR serving the public. (So much for the so-called agency "mission".)

Handwork of incapable policy makers is evident all along 90 Road when nothing but negative messages are posted. Neither education nor safety nor public service is being achieved. USFS "face' toe public is indistinguishable from a nagging ex-wife but, given staffing these days, maybe that's accurate.

Money spent on covering their own mistakes could be better spent on real, needed facilities' maintenance. Despite concentrating of funds inside Lower Falls CG, neglect of capital facilities elsewhere on the upper Lewis borders on criminal. Priorities of destroying old logging spurs (e.g. Rush Creek Trail) warrants firing of personnel.
