The campground was pleasant. Even with the neighbors deciding that the radio needed to be very loud. The hosts were nice and you could tell they took pride in maintaining the restrooms. The trails needed some chainsaw maintenance. The road up from Cispus was absolutely horrible once it became gravel! Even going at basically 5 mph I thought my car s going to break.

This is a great campground to stay at. The surroundings are spectacular, but to have only two 30 gallon trash cans to cover over 45 sites is ridiculous. If you’re having problems with dispersed campers dumping their garbage at campground, then deal with them, don’t penalize the folks who have paid to stay in the campground. This is a camp host decision sponsored by Rocky Mtn. Mgmt.

The campground was excellent (minus the bugs!). Every camp was an easy trail walk straight to the lake and there was some excellent hiking around the lake and out to the old lava flows from Mt. Adams. SO beautiful!

Lovely area, enjoyable trails, great hosts! But be ready for mosquitoes.
