Clean, heated bathrooms with showers and laundry machines on site! Very friendly camp hosts and easy check in process. Hope to come back soon! Beautiful scenery and plenty of hiking and biking trails to enjoy near the dam.

It's a beautiful park with lots of water views. Staff was friendly. Bathrooms are old but clean. We stayed in site #58. The ramp/driveway going down to the pad was a bit too steep so the rear jacks on our 24' bumper pull trailer were scrapping. We ended up using our spacer blocks under the wheels at the dip and removed the equalizer bars to add weight to the hitch and lower the front of the trailer. It worked with less than an inch of clearance. They were willing to move us but the only site available looked like we'd have the same problem. I think a 20' trailer or less wouldn't have a problem.if I was going back I'd carry boards instead of plastic spacers.

We stayed in site 115 and had a blast . It's an area where your kind of to your self and your across from a restroom. It's right on the water.

remove tree at the patio area where door would be and remove some of the brush so the lake can be see out the back window.

Our favorite place to go. Love the quietness and beauty . Clean restroom and showers. Friendly host and volunteers on duty. Will be coming often.

We love camping at R Shaefer Heard. This campground is wonderful, and the water access can't be beat. It's incredible.

Our family has done quite a bit of camping across the continental US, but this campground was by far the cleanest, quietest, and most beautiful. We will be back!
