A lot of the sites are steep to back in to but level where you would park. Bathrooms were old but clean. Overall the park was clean and grounds mowed. Paved roads made walking the campground pleasant. Would go back if passing through again.

Wonderful campground, large level pads and lots of beach area. Congenial hosts and clean bathrooms! Thank you for a enjoyable stay.

My favorite thing about any COE Park is the ability to gather downed firewood for a campfire, and R Shaefer Heard park has plenty of downed wood available. My site (#57) was expansive - long enough for my 40' motorhome - with plenty of space left in the driveway for my toad. There is even a separate parking space available, but I did not use it. I could only see the lake through the trees and underbrush from this site. The site is graveled, has a picnic table and a fire ring. The site has 30A power, water, but no sewer. The dump station is reasonably close by and it was level enough to drain most of the tank's contents.
