I camp at this location often and the hosts are always so friendly. They keep me coming back. This weekend however, was a new host that I have not encountered before. A coworker came to drive through the park on Saturday, as they are looking for a new place to camp. They were told the park was full(it was not) and they wouldnt be able to until Monday. That is concerning as thats exactly how I started camping here 25 years ago. My daughter and her family also came to visit and were not treated as friendly as we are used to at this location. Park is well kept and clean as usual.

Staff was friendly; site was fabulous; the only issue the site wasnt cleaned well from previous occupant.

Another great stay at R Shaefer Heard. Camp host at check in was excellent. Our site was very nice. First trip out with our new RV ( stayed here in the past with our previous RV) . We enjoy weekday camping at this park. Its a three hour drive from our home but is worth it.

Lots of lake side sites with great views. Some have pretty significant incline or decline approaches but the pads are pretty level. We enjoyed our lectric bikes on the hills throughout the park.

All of our stays here have been amazing with beautiful views! This is our favorite place to go. But, on the down side we have 2 small dogs that weighs 5 and 17 pounds. We love taking them on walks. On two separate visits, a huge dog has charged after them and scared us to death. The owners apologize and say their harmless and wouldnt hurt anyone. I know you have leash laws and they should apply to everyone. We shouldnt have to be afraid to walk our dogs.

The sites are always clean and a pleasure to camp. The bathrooms are clean also but they are in dire need of painting and repair.

Site 32 was great, beautiful views/sunsets, site was very clean and suited our needs perfectly. Be careful with your awning due to the winds blowing in off of the water at times.
Army Corps of Engineers Campground, so half price for us! Level, big enough to not have to unhitch our small trailer for our one night stay. Was deserted when we were here in the winter. Almost all sites are right on the water. Great sunset view from our campsite.

I have yet to stay at a bad COE campground and this was no exception. The only thing unusual to me was the 4pm check in and 3 pm check out. Maybe that is because we usually want travel early in the day and check in early. We also haven't encountered the hours at other COE campground.

This was one of the best RV sites we have visited. From check in with an extremely pleasant and helpful gentleman to the great view from a perfectly level and well positioned site it was great. Water and electricity were fine. There is no sewer hookup, but we were only overnight and planned for that. Each site is literally on the waterfront and well spaced from the others. This was well worth the stop for us.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds in the LaGrange area. Very beautiful sites and well kept campground. The only drawback is the gate. Wish it was automated or some way not restricting campers coming and going when they wish.
