We really enjoyed our stay at R Schaefer COE campground. The grounds are well kept, the sites are far apart and the views are great. It was nice to stay by the lake and fishing was good.

This is a beautiful campground way above what we needed for just a quick overnight. The campsites are wide with paved parking pad for our 30' travel trailer with plenty of room. There is also a tent pad at each site. The lake is beautiful but the level was low due to dam repairs. Pull throughs were available but we like spot 110 so just backed in easily.We were there for 18 hours and were invaded by small black ants which we saw mentioned by others.

Great site. Staff was very friendly which was a refreshing change from previous visits! The only thing I was unhappy with was the size of the area to our tents. I understand we cant put them on the grass, but it would be nice to have a larger tent pad as we couldnt even use the fire pit once the tent was up.

Site 110 was easy to maneuver into and gave us great sky opening for our Starlink. Cant wait for our next trip.

Amazing views! No matter which site you are at, they all have views of the water. Internet worked well the entire time. Bathhouses were clean. They even have a washer and dryer!

Very beautiful place. We were there in January and park was almost empty. Had a beautiful spot overlooking the lake. Nice and quiet.

When we got our camper, we heard R. Shaefer Heard was a good park to go to. We got a pass to check out the place and fell in love with the view. Before we left, we had booked our next weekend trip. By that summer, you couldn't keep us away. It is a great place to come and enjoy some good quality time with the family and friends. We had the kids and grandkids over on the weekends, and we stayed during the week.The kids enjoyed swimming, and boat riding. Plus, we were able to catch lots of fish. It was lovely. The staff are wonderful, but the laundry facilities need a serious update. We had to got out and wash ours. I highly recommend R. Shaefer Heard.
