One of the best campgrounds we've ever been to. Beautiful, well maintained sites and facilities. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back.

We stay at this COE location often. Staff is always squared away and the sites are on par with other COE locations in the country. Mobile phone and over the air television reception is limited...........all the more better.

Stayed in Site 11 with a 37' 5th wheel. Have stayed at this site several times in the past. Easy in, easy out. Super quiet in the middle of December. OTA TV is not so good at this site. Cell reception is skosh but doable. Power is good, water pressure good.

Nice clean, level, concrete slabbed spaces with full hook ups. Really enjoyed our time there.

Were only there for one night (Friday) on two consecutive weeks. Everything was wonderful and we can't wait to return when we can stay for a while.

This is one of the best campgrounds in all of Central Georgia. The campground staff is wonderful. The area has beautiful scenery, with good restaurants and plenty to do. The campground itself is excellent with beautiful scenery, roomy sites, and plenty of quiet. We loved our stay here and will be back. Two things to be aware of, though. 1. Bring leveling blocks, and 2. There are no sewer hookups. Not bad, but just be ready for it.

RSH is a classic COE park that is easily accessible from I-85 with lots of smartly placed sites that provide a decent amount of solitude. All utilities are right on. Staff up front is professional. Dump station allows dumping on the way out in two directions, not just one. Roads through the 1-16 loop need some TLC. Sites have cinder/sand base not gravel like other COE parks like Rudd's Creek in Virginia...........very messy especially after a rain. Stayed at R Shaefer Heard for my fourth time with a 37' fifth wheel on site 11.

Our overnight stay was excellent as always. R Shaeffer Heard Park is always our midway point when traveling from Pensacola Fl to Murphy NC.

Love this facility and have returned there many times. Only complaint is the red sediment in the drinking water.

R Shafer Heard is the best of the West Point Lake campgrounds. It has many 50 amp sites necessary for motorhomes and larger fifth wheels. Fairly easy to maneuver for a CE campground.

Such a lovely experience- sites are always clean, scenery is beautiful and our loop was friendly but quiet which is great for us to be able to go on walks with our toddler and dogs.

We have been staying at this park for many years. It almost feels like home. I would recommend bikes to get around, as it's a big park.
