Our criterion for any place we visit is "would we go back". We would go back to this campground.

The campground is well maintained. Campground hosts, Leah and James Hardy, are very friendly and helpful. Go to Hunters Pub for an excellent dinner and an unforgettable experience.

Overall we really liked this park. It has several loops and all of them offer different pros and cons. We found a trail and a little private beach where we could let our dogs play and they loved it. Quiet and saw several bald eagles and deer. We were in site 79. Pros: - It had beautiful water views and easy access to the water for fishing and swimming. - Easy to back intoCons: - It was less private than I expected, you look directly onto site 80. - Bugs. So many bugs. They are harmless lake midges, however once it gets dark you cannot walk in and our of your camper without getting tons of them inside. - No shade for about 4 hours in the afternoon/evening. Sun shining directly into your face if attempting to sit outside. Biggest issue was we were told on our last day that we could not put our dog fence on the gravel pad due to complaints from tent campers and "sanitation reasons". It was in the instructions and we did not notice it so it is a fair rule. However we saw several families with them up on gravel pads also and it appears to be a selective enforcement. We aren't interested in breaking a rule so we won't go back to a site with a gravel pad again, but didn't like the fact it felt targeted. We also asked if there was a rule about the sites with no gravel pad, but a wooden deck instead and was told "there isn't a rule yet but we are trying to get one in place. These places would be better off if no pets were allowed at all." Which just really rubbed us the wrong way seeing as how our dogs are part of our family and I think most pet owners agree. So all in all it is a fine park and great if you don't have pets, but we likely won't return.

Nice spot right on the lake(site 79); the campground was quiet and clean. We had good Verizon signal. Bath House was clean and had good water pressure. There were lots of mosquitoes so bring your bug spray. Would go back.
