R shaefer heard is one of my favorite campgrounds! Most of the sites have easy access to the lake and the hosts are always so friendly!

Enjoyed the peace and quiet. large roomy sites not stacked on top of each other. Cool and windy this time of year but still very enjoyable.

Wow, what a beautiful campground. Almost every site is on the lake. Most sites are fairly private with some very private. We were in site #4 and loved it! The only drawback is that not all sites have 50amp and I dont think any have sewer. Definitely worth the visit though.

I really enjoyed the location and the lot had an amazing view. I love the quietness of the park with very little traffic. The only bummer was, no trash cans or dumpsters available unless we drive to the dumping station.

Such a beautiful lake, area, campground and space. My only complaint was that there was no bathroom in close proximity to the loop we were in.

We stopped here on our way back north and stayed 3 nights. It rained and the site we had (4) didn't have the best cell service. Other than those two things the campsite was gorgeous, the lake very nice and the campsites spacious, clean and very nearly level. I do really prefer these COE and the USFS campgrounds as the amenities if you are more in tune with nature are very nice.

We really like the spacious campsite. We were in site 4 with a great water view and shade. If you’re looking for something to do in the area, the Hill and Dales Garden in LaGrange is an excellent day trip.
