This park has great potential. Most sites are in good shape but many are unlevel. My issue is with the bathroom facilities. They are very poor and need major renovation. This park does not have on site sewer so the COE should provide modernized and cleaned and maintained bath and showers. Luckily we are totally self contained but if you are not, be aware.

WE had a very good relaxing time. Our camp hosts were wonderful, very helpful & made us feel at home. Sadly they left to go home to Missouri.

The double site was very nice for camping with a friend.

Bath houses and restrooms facilities need to be renovated. Toilets are badly stained. Shower heads bad shape. Nothing wrong with block house but renovate the facilities.

We love camping here! It's a great spot for walking and riding bikes. It is close to the Dam which is cool to drive over and check out. There is a playground and a day park nearby which has additional walking and biking trails.

Very clean and quiet. Nice campsites. If they had full hookups I would stay there more often and for longer periods of time. Great place to camp, fish, kayak and mountain bike!

We had a great time. Rented our site(65) and the other couple didn't show. Our great nieces enjoyed the experience. We were surprised to find that this site only had 30 amp service instead of 50 amp. Fortunatley it was cool enough that it didn't matter. We have enjoyed camping at R. Shaefer Heard for over 20 years.

This campground has awesome large private sites with a large number of them waterfront and shady! We camped there 5 times this summer & love it!

Wonderful site, I really don't understand why they close the 55-117 for the winter because those are the side that the sun for the winter would be better.

I cant think of anyway our stay could have been better. Our site was perfect, well maintained. The lake was crystal clear and we felt like we had it all to ourselves. This is what camping should be, not crammed up against your neighbor. We loved it and cant wait to come back.
