The campground and the campsites are beautiful. Proximity to the water is ideal. The problem is the other campers; management does not enforce quiet hours or behavioral expectations. Both nights of our stay there were block parties with loud music and drunken campers until 1-2 am, complete with multiple crying babies and endlessly barking dogs. If not for the obnoxious behavior of other guests, this would be a 5 star camping experience.

Beautiful decks overlooking the forest and lake. Sites 40 & 42 were great - level and fit our 2 cars. Moved out of Site 45 because the driveway was too steep and curvy for me (but Im bad at backing in). Had to drive to the bathroom - very clean with good showers. Hosts checked in with us and gave us their emergency number - felt very safe. Loved this peaceful, natural setting.

Incredibly beautiful campground. All the hosts were friendly, kind and helpful. The bathrooms are very clean with hot showers. Good hiking trails, perfect for kayakers and boaters. Elijay is about 16 miles away and has great restaurants, shops etc. Thank you!

This was a very beautiful campground. Spread out where you felt very private. We thought looking at a map we would be on the water but it is really a mountain where you are high above the water level. The bath house in our area was well maintained and clean. We were just traveling through so only a quick one night stay but it looks like there is a lot of shopping and restaurants within 10 minutes from the campground.

During our visit, the park was absolutely beautiful with the fall colors at full peak. This is a lovely place to enjoy the beauty of the season and to simply relax. It is obviously peak tourist season, as well. Ellijay was doable in terms of traffic and there were a number of small, heartwarming festivals; however, we were disappointed in several trips to nearby towns and attractions, such as Blue Ridge, which were thwarted by traffic and crowds. So my recommendation would be to stay fireside at your gorgeous Doll Mountain campsite, relax, and take in the peace and quiet of fall and the riot of color in the forest.

Campground was beautiful but bring along your own TP for bathrooms. Some RV spots are steep so look at map if you have a hard time backing. Love this place

Usually a very great place to camp. This time there was a ‘tent city’ in the upper part of the campground; they had loose dogs running around, they were using the trees as a bathroom, and had a yelling and cursing domestic squabble at the bathhouse. Not a very comfortable experience.

Beautiful lake, although to fish a boat is needed. Sites are very shaded and spaced nicely. Volunteers are friendly. We highly recommend staying there.

In order to manage a two-week stay, we had to change campsites 4 times. The most frustrating part was that during that same period, there were numerous campsites in our loop that were left vacant, but still showed as reserved on Recreation.gov. There should be a policy stating that campers must occupy their site on the first night of their reservation or forfeit the reservation completely. This is a sought-after campground and this holding of sites deprives access to campers who truly intend to be there.

Our visit to Doll Mountain campground was pleasant. Love the peaceful fullness of Doll Mountain, a great place to just set back and relax, or take a walk through the campground enjoying the natural beauty of rolling landscape and the beautiful lake setting. The staff are helpful and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.
