SITE 12: Great spot, close to water. Has a few steps down to lower seating area. It's walking distance to showers and swim beach near site 6. Cell service with T-mobile is not good here but Wifi through Verizon home internet was sufficient. You'll get the afternoon sun here and LOTS of frogs at night :) Site is a BACK IN, (or sharp pull-through) and you'll need some leveling devices for this one.

Great time of year to camp here --kids are still in school, no crowds, quiet nights, and reasonably comfortable temperatures. Happy to see that site 2's "Grand Canyon " entrance has finally been filled and leveled.

This is the first poor experience that I have had staying at COE campgrounds. Site 12A. The site numbers are very hard to find. Poor design and has been allowed to deteriorate. By the looks of it, no one has used this site in some time; locals know not to choose it. Rain and a constant leaking water spigot have eroded it so much that it was impossible to get the camper level. No attendant on duty when I arrived, and when I phoned the number the next day, I learned that no attendant was on duty at all on Wednesday and half days otherwise. I do think the park looks lovely and peaceful. I might have driven around to find a different site, but I chose to leave.

A nice pleasant relaxing get-away camping trip was negatively impacted every morning for 1-2 hours by the sounds of a loud leaf blower. Revving up, shutting down, revving up... blowing....blowing... The serenity of the lake and a beautiful morning campfire is ruined by hearing leaf blowing every morning for 1-2 hours. Let the leaves be! Someone sitting in an office probably thinks leaf free roads and campsites are VERY important. They aren’t! And because water amplifies sound, the blower could be quite a distance away and still be quite loud.My time was negatively impacted and I don’t appreciate that. You may think it’s not that big a deal - let someone crank up next to your house every morning on your day off and run it 1-2 hours and see how you like it.

Love Petersburg campground, large spacious campsites, beautiful water views, lots of privacy and many with easy access to lake for kayaking, paddle boarding or anchoring your boat. Also the swim areas are very nice for swim, sunning, or a float. Great camping if you want a relaxing time in woods or active time on water.

This is my second visit to this campground. If I ever return to Georgia I would stay here again. Campsite overlooked the lake and was clean. I unfortunately could only stay one night. Many other campers were fishing and had their boats with them. This is a popular campground.

The sites and lake views are great. Wish they had the whole campground open during the winter.
