I have been a little disappointed by our camping at Petersburg site this year. We had neighbors who were loud and shining bright lights (very bright lights) until after midnight. It was always my understanding that campsites should be quiet by around 10 PM. Also, there was a broken toilet in the ladies room that was not fixed over two days of camping. It used to be that the bathrooms were cleaned very early every morning. However, even with those unfortunate experiences, we will return to Petersburg and hope that things improve. We tent camp, which becomes more difficult each year as more rock/gravel is added to campsites for those with campers. It's hard to drive in tent stakes. However, the campsites are large and private and the bathhouse has hot water. Hope this helps someone else!

We were suppose to check in May 24th I called May 25th and cancelled because my husband has cancer and was not feeling well I was told a refund would go before a committee and I would receive an email I called yesterday June 6th and explained that I had not gotten an email about a refund She could not tell me why I had not heard anything and offered the phone number for Petersburg Campground I told her I had called that number and it goes to a recording that they do not return calls Very disappointed!

Spot 37 is very uneven & rocky, It needs Re-grading and rolled, IF YOU HAVE A TENT ....NO PROBLEMS, IF YOU HAVE A TRAVEL TRAILER .... NO PROBLEM, However with an RV motorhome it took 20 minutes of moving back and forth on the site to find a flat enough piece of ground for the Auto Levelers to work without an error message stating the ground was not level enough.

The camping was great. The only issue we had was the maintenance crew stirred up a lot of dust blowing off the vacant campsites beside us. I really didn’t see the need for blowing off those sites 3 times in a week.

Our friends were turned away at the gate because they wanted to visit, not camp. We are all senior citizens and just wanted to have lunch. The gate attendant was rude and never attempted to help us. The “no visitor” policy isn’t listed anywhere on the websites. It makes no sense as we were self contained on our site, are close friends, and have all had the vaccines.
On leaving we saw a no visitor sign posted on the window of the gate. However, wouldn’t you assume that no visitors meant no wandering through the campground without a reservation. My husband drove to the gate to bring them in but that was not allowed either. Such a disappointment!
