ANTS WERE EVERYWHERE!!! We used over 4 cans of ant spray and still we couldnt keep them out of our brand new camper. We liked the size of the site with crush and run. Campground should consider ground treatment.

Petersburg is a clean quiet campground. Bathhouses are a bit outdated but they were clean. Spots are wide and have fire rings, grills and picnic tables. This is a very wooded campground so there is a lot of poison oak, sumac etc., we did see a very large Timber Rattlesnake on the road warming up when coming in at nearly dusk. We had a very large king snake swim across the water and come on shore at our lot. We had a daily beaver visit as he swam in and out of the cove which was really cool. Being that the area is so wooded wildlife is abundant so we always walked with a stick and carried flashlights. All in all it was a great stay, very relaxing and will definitely visit again!

Sites need serious repairs. Holes and ruts make it difficult to enter and exit the camping sites. The underbrush should be cut to allow better views of the lake as well as help control snake nests around campsites and playgrounds. Dead and dying trees need to be cut. Falling trees and limbs during a storm can cause injury as well as costly damage to property. The road around the boat landing needs repair and widening.Consider a second vehicle pass around the main gate, for those with displayed park passes, eliminating the long wait for newcomers to finish checking in. Guests and visitors need to be made aware of the speed limits within the park.

We stayed at site 13 at Petersburg Campground at the end of March, 2022 in our class B camper van.Site was spotless, leveled with one block on the passenger side. The campfire grill was in need of repair and not operational. We used the charcoal grill instead. The site is close to the bathhouse with a short walk. Bathhouse was very clean and plenty of water pressure and hot water. Trails are well marked and easy walking. It was our second time at this site and would return for sure.

The camp host helped me and my wife when we were moving to a different site. She's an awesome lady.

Camping sites are in much need of a water drainage system, during heavy rains, to prevent flooding. Several sites are noted to accommodate larger rigs but in and out driveways are difficult to maneuver due to steep inclines or nearby trees. Petersburg Campgrounds needs to open more sites year-round.

Although only a small part of the park was available for camping in January, our campsite was clean and well maintained. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable.

Lovely area. Nice sites. Showers need some work. Bath house I heater and very little hot water pressure even though the campground was not busy.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
