It was quite a bad trip this time! Brought my boat this time and parked it on the shore in front of my campsite. Being that the lake is so low there was nothing to tie the boat to so I stuck the foot of the motor down into the mud to keep it from floating off. The next morning the boat was gone! I reported it missing to the sheriffs department and they contacted GDNR. It had floated off because of the lake water level was apparently raised that night. To make matters worse the next day after I got enough rope to tie it off, the Corp lowered the lake level and my boat was grounded in the mud and couldnt be moved. So, to sum it up, the trees are gone and the lake level goes up and down unexpectedly without any warning to make our week stay a pretty miserable visit!

It was great to see the newly renovated campsites. They were spacious, level, well spaced out from the other sites. Even though hurricane Helene did major damage to the area, was great to see things coming back together and opening up.

We thoroughly enjoyed our too short visit. The site was well groomed, clean and spacious. Looking forward to our next stay and making it longer.

The site was spacious with a good view of the lake. The walk to the water is relatively easy with a clear path. Overall, I would recommend!

love going to Petersburg park. always have a great experience. Campground is clean and neat. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean. Quiet and peaceful

Very quiet and peaceful. Large and beautiful sites. Given the location, we were pleasantly surprised with the cell phone and hotspot connectivity (T-Mobile).

Lovely large sights at waters edge. Laundry facility. Quiet peaceful location with water and power. Will definitely go back.

This is an amazing place to set up camp and stay awhile! I only stayed a week but could have easily stayed a month if it wasnt against the rules beautiful sites almost all on Strom Thurmond (Clarks hill) lake. My site was #7 , and with the water a bit high I was able to launch my kayak right from my site. Most sites are shaded so it w sound be an awesome place during the summer as well and I also noticed several that had their boats tied up at their site. Paved roads throughout the campground so biking is great. I would definitely recommend and will most likely be back.

Excellent camping experience. Spotty T Mobile service. Good Verizon coverage. I would be happy with any site. Well maintained.

We have stay at this facility before and it always been great and awesome. We stay 2nights and enjoy very much. We stay during the week and it was quiet and dark. We really like the free laundry. The only thing is don't let bad apples ruined for the rest of us. Thank you .
