Stayed in our 40 Ft. Class A motorhome with Jeep tow. Beautiful, large site, overlooked lake. We were able to launch our kayaks from site and ride our E-bikes around this large campground. It was peaceful and the facilities were clean and well maintained. We stayed on site 46 B for 10 nights. The staff at the entry (Ranger Station) were kind and very helpful. We will surely stay again if we are in the area.

We love this park and have come several times. All the sites are large and offer beautiful views of the lake.
See you again in the fall Petersburg Campground!

Beautiful park but I picked the wrong site (#46). Didn't realize it was a buddy site until after we had traversed the driveway down to the site (my fault). We arrived after a weekend of rain. Lots of entrances to the sites, including ours were very rutted. Also, our site where the camper would normally be parked was so soft we didn't feel comfortable. We moved up more toward the fire pit/pinic table & thankfully had enough cord & hose to reach. We reported the ruts to the gate staff. We did mark a few other sites that would work for us but we are going to give Winfield a try next time. Note that the turn off hwy 221 is quite narrow. As we were making our turn onto Petersburg Road a COE worker came barreling down the road to exit the park. We braked hard to avoid hitting him. He stopped right at the stop sign & wouldn't move. Since there isn't a 'turn lane' we were causing a backup on 221. We made the poor decision to cut our turn short & the back right end of our camper (28') went off onto the muddy ground. It busted our stabilizer. Not a huge deal but it could have been avoided if: 1) the worker had backed up about 10 feet or went ahead & turned onto 221, or 2) we could have waited him out. Live & learn .....

We have a very large rig (43' fifth wheel) and site 45 was very difficult for us to get into and get level. Beautiful site, great view, but not super big rig friendly-- at least for our skill level!

Campsite with a spectacular view but a little tricky getting our 35 ft Travel trailer out. Despite that we would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone else especially with the Senior National Parks Pass!

Best COE park I've been at. Spacious sites. Many have easy water access.

Laundry room was not adequate for size of park
