There is no better way to ruin your vacation than to encounter a hateful, condescending campground host. After making numerous attempts to visit Cotton Hill we were finally able to secure a campsite, we were looking so forward to our visit after hearing what a nice park it was.Upon arrival we encountered campground host John Philips at the registration entrance who was having a major meltdown, aggressively angry, and immediately began yelling in a demeaning manner. No matter how much I tried to be pleasant he continued his rage.IF ONE OF MY EMPLOYEES DISPLAYED THIS BEHAVIOR HE WOULD BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED !He seriously needs to seek professional help.Needless to say I will not be returning to Cotton Hill, and recommend you consider another location for your R&R.The facility is not worth having to deal with his childish behavior.

Cotton Hill is an awesome campground. This was our second visit. To start, the staff at the front gate when we arrived were very friendly and receptive. Our camping site was in excellent condition. We were on site 33 which gave us a view of an inlet where two eagles soared above. The campground facilities were very clean and properly equipped. The campground is located conveniently such that in 30 min you can find yourself at a super Walmart if you needed supplies you might have forgotten. We arrived on the Sunday afternoon before Christmas and was going to stay until Christmas eve. We decided to leave early and the staff was very understanding. We simply wanted to get home early. Surprisingly, I received a refund for the last day we were supposed to stay. We did not even ask for it. The staff there processed it anyway!

Cotton Hill campground is one of my favorite places to stay in southwestern Georgia. It is quiet, beautiful and the sites are well spaced and have full hookups on most sites. The camp hosts are always friendly and helpful.

People in the front gate were excellent, very pleasant. AT&T had excellent signal. Lots of over the air TV stations. Laundry was nice and inexpensive. We were on site 33. Nice and easy for a big rig.

Great sites with water views. Clean and spacious with lots of space between sites. Good bathhouses and good water quality. The staff was very nice and accomadating. Full hook ups at 1/2 price for seniors. Great value. Shopping and restaurants are a ways away being the only negative if your not a cooking camper.

Overall, the experience was very good. The sites on the Old Mill Rd are good. The drawback is the restroom is small for the number of sites. You can launch a canoe or kayak from most sites on this section.

This was our fourth visit within a year. We enjoy the peacefulness and the water views. Saw deer, Ospreys, Egrets and fisherman on the lake.Highly recommend. Always enjoy our walks in the campground. Restrooms and showers are very clean. Friendly staff! Not far from our home so - not a long trip to enjoy a pretty, well maintained, peaceful campground!

Quiet, relaxing, clean, but most of all the people who were there to run the place from the gate attendant to the ranger service were amazing. A definite return visit is planned.

Excellent campground that is very well maintained. When selecting sites, pay attention to the slope, since some rigs will scrape and hangup on the pavement at a few locations. Good boat ramp facility and many people tie their boats up to the bank near their sites, very convenient. Deer frequently seen around the campground and various other wildlife. While the beach loop is closed in winter, it is very popular during the warmer months. Large walk up loop with sites that are not reservable. Nearest town is Ft. Gaines with very modest shopping available. Nearby points of interest include Kolomoki Mounds State Park and Providence Canyon State Park

Love this beautiful and quiet campground. While the bath house was certainly clean, we had one issue I think should be addressed. The cleaning company used a massive amount of bleach. I went into shower area about two hours after they were done and my eyes and throat were burning within 10 minutes. I foolishly went ahead and took shower (tho taking precaution of having the outer door open for ventilation. My throat was still having problems 4 days later. Another camper shared she had problems also. I realize they are being extra cautious with cleaning during Covid. But this was way over the top. I hate to think how someone with long term lung issues from Covid, or those with other lung issues, would be affected by this. It needs a solution. At the very least a warning sign on the door. That aside, we do plan to return soon but will be far more cautious

Clean and well maintained campsites with great views of the lake amongst towering mature trees. Contracted services do a good job keeping bathrooms and shower house clean. Roads and camp pads paved. Gravel around picnic table, fire pit, and grill.

So far out of all the campgrounds we have visited Cotton Hill is the best. Nice spacing between sites. All around very clean facilities. Plenty of things to do. Nice and peaceful area. The Staff make you welcome during the stay and are very efficient in any question you have. Plenty of wild life in area. The view of the lake is fantastic. We will be returning many times.
