nicely paved, even campsite, and very clean bathrooms. we only stopped over, so we did not get to explore much, but what we saw was great

Beautiful location. Actual campsite was smaller than it appears on the website. Bathroom could have been much cleaner. There is no firewood on site to purchase. We got firewood in Wytheville at Food Country. Close to several mountains peaks and I-81.

We very much enjoyed our visit. The campground was clean and quiet with sites wooded for privacy. Only two complaints.1) Not allowed to bring in firewood and there was nowhere close to purchase it.2) The dump station leaves a lot to be desired. Only one dumping station and no signs to warn other campers to not pull up beside you. Center station was cemented shut. Water hose to far away.

Nice campsites, most are shaded with wooded surroundings. I would be careful in times of potential flooding since the lower and higher number campsites are at low ground and near the stream that meanders through the campground. The dump station needs work. The center station with access to both sides was cemented over when we were there in June leaving only one small dump area to the left. It was just far enough away from that center station which had the rinse water working, but the hose was too short to reach the dump station and no way to add a hose to extend it.

This is a beautiful campground! The sites are spacious and with plenty of shade. The bathhouses are spotless and disinfected several times a day. The campground hosts of Jack, Rae, and Keith are so friendly, courteous, and helpful.

Beautiful campground. Some sites are on the small side, some are long and narrow, some are very wide. The loop isn’t huge which makes it quaint, but the trees make it feel private. We were staying here while looking at properties in TN. Damascus is an up and coming town not too far away where you can rent bicycles to ride the VA Creeper Trail, or you can just pay for the haul to the drop off point if you have your own bikes. There is a country store not far away from the campground where the views are gorgeous. We will definitely come back again.
The only glitch…
The dump station is across the street from the campground. You can only pull in one way to dump and only one camper at a time can do so. The pipe used to dump is not flush to the ground so you need to lift your hose at the sag to keep it flowing. It was 26 degrees out when we were leaving so the water lines at the station were frozen so we couldn’t flush out our black tank like we normally do. The campground can’t change the weather, but the dump area is oddly constructed. Not sure if something happened to the old dump area since it’s been concreted shut.

Campsite was good, paved, near bath house, beautiful place with lots of trees. We had a site with water and electric at additional charge. But we got a discount using our National Park Senior pass as this is a National Forest CG. RV dump station is outside campground entrance. Our site was long enough that we were able to stay hooked up for our overnight stay.
No firewood available for sale, so bring some that is certified heat treated with USDA seal on label.

Bathrooms are a steep climb on grass for retired campers and the sign showing no hot water was not very welcome.

Nice, quiet setting with nature trails and hikes. Bathhouses need updating and we were very disappointed there was no firewood available unless you had a chainsaw to cut your own.

Quiet campground with lots of shade and good spacing between sites. The only problem was that the dump station was closed.
