This campground is a well kept secret. The restroom/shower houses are a bit old, but the hosts keep them clean and well maintained. all the sites are level and kept clean and well marked. Water and Electric are safe and easily connected to. The views and roads are very picturesque. Wytheville (15mins) is a quaint little town with shops and restaurants of all kinds. Late September and early October is the perfect time of year with cool nights and comfortable days. Beware, long trailers (>22') can be a challenge to back into for a few of the sites.

Camp host on back of campground was rude. She had a horrible looking camp site with tarps and a dog house. She did not speak except to SCREAM at us when our dog got away from us. Her father did not follow camp directions driving his golf cart the wrong way. She also screamed from her campsite at a truck that drove by at a rate of speed she felt was too fast but if she knew the person the same rule did not apply. We will not be back.

Beautiful campground but poorly maintained. BATHROOM/shower covered in mold. Host campsite looked like a homeless camp. We were downwind right next to it. Very strong sewage smell. Dump station was semi functional.

Lovely streams. Sun station is filthy and trash putting out everywhere and bathrooms are so so but the trails and streams are amazing. Rv spots are very nice too.

We have been camping at Stony Fork Campground for many years. It has become our home away from home. It is peaceful, serene, clean, well kept, and the volunteer hosts are great, especially Jack Goins and Keith Spencer. They are the best!! They work hard to ensure that all of us are well taken care of.

Great campground. Spaces are immense and secluded. From most spots you can’t see your neighbor. Even though the campground was full there was very little noise. Bathrooms were immaculate. The camp volunteer was available to help with whatever needed to be done. There is a very nice nature trail in the campground. If you forgot anything town is very close by. We will return again.

The park was peaceful and quiet. The sites were spacious and there were mature trees between each site. Our site had a wide asphalt drive that made it easy to park our trailer and also offered protection from the wet ground (it rained the three days we were there).

No dump station opened and wasn’t notified. Larger sites and made more level, needs work

My husband and I stayed here for one night only, and we'd love to go back for a longer stay next time. Its setting was perfect -- not too far off the highway, yet far enough to be very serene. The campground hosts were able to tell us where to buy wood (a quick drive) from a local gentleman. It was a good stop for us on our way to Shenandoah National Park.

I loved the place but I must say the camp hosts have a lot to be desired. They should greet the campers, see if they any questions, and SMILE and not act like they dont want to be there. They would stop and talk to campers they must have known. It is a pretty place with big spaces and woods.

Great campground close enough to the BSA Summit Bechtel reserve to make traveling there easy. My only issue was the campground hosts and a few other RV campers (who were camping near us) did not turn off their outside lights at night. This ended up being too much light pollution for my taste. When you have lights on all night it makes for poor sleep in a tent.
