Facilities were nice and clean. Near a good hiking trail. Campsite 23 & 24 are on top of each other. The fire pits and tables were right next to each other. Good thing there weren't any campers on site 23. It would be nice if two families or friends were camping together.

It would have been nice to have my tent pad cleaned off prior to my arrival. It was filled with leaves and other debris which I had to clean off myself. Otherwise it was great. Hosts were friendly.

Perfect spot for a relaxing camping weekend. Excellent camp hosts. Clean and spacious campsites. Bathhouses were also clean and stocked.

We really enjoyed our stay at this campground. The camp hosts were very nice and delivered the firewood right to our site. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that most of the sites are not level and that makes a difference when you are camping in a rooftop tent on your vehicle.Bathhouses were clean and water was hot. Would stay again next year for sure.

The campground is a peaceful place with large campsites that have a table, firepit and tent pad. Bathhouse is small but works and has hot water. It is close to the Jackson river, visitor center and Dam for Lake Momaw, biking and hiking trails. We enjoy visiting once a year. The hosts are friendly and helpful

I've been coming to Morris Hill campground for some 25+ years. Very pretty and quiet there. We now have a camper and I'm getting older and wished that campsites has water and electric provided. We love riding to Bath County to see the Homestead. We also love the drive to the campground and surrounding areas. Beautiful up there.Sandra Ross

We have a Van and were assigned space 26. There is nothing level on this site. It would be very difficult to level out. We checked with the camp hosts who said we can just take any unreserved spot, thankfully there were alot of them. No cell service or starlink at this site due to tree cover. They did have flush toilets and a shower but it was a 2 out of 5 rating, but still nice they had something.

The campground is clean and we'll taken care of, it's close to the lake (but not on it directly) and a few great picnic spots. The camp hosts were informative and friendly and the campsite was really good with bundles of wood offered for those who don't bring their own wood to burn. The wildlife is active with the majority of the animals spotted being deer and a couple bear! Overall a really great experience and camping trip.

We came to camp during the brunt of Hurricane Helene. We knew there would be rain and time spent in our camper. During the breaks in the storm, Camp Host, David, came by to check on sites. The sites were all in expected order, the bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. Saturday turned out to be good enough weather for a family boat ride. The lake level was the lowest we've seen in years. Coles Point boat ramp was not usable due to the level and Fortney Branch only had a small section to get our boat in. The Forest Service or Army Corps maintenance employees cited draught as the reason, but we suspect they cater water flow to the papermill and other commercial purposes downstream and not for its advertised purpose (flood control/recreation). My Verizon cell phone had enough service (2 bars LTE) to stream a movie for the kids and my T-Mobile phone had no service (the closest place to get reception was back on E Morris Hill Rd). We were one of only about 4 total campers. The only drawback to Morris Hill is the lack of electric sites. Adding electricity to all or even a few sites would make this campground our usual go-to!

Conveniently located in Lake Moomaw- a nice campground that only takes reservations. I had to make a last minute reservation which I didnt want to do but messed up directions to get to another campground. Really enjoyed the site but was disturbed a bit by the chain sawing at 8 AM. Overall a good spot!

We liked the campground so much that we extended our stay for serval more days. Close to bike and hike trails. We plan to come back to this campground in the next year or two.

Loved site 36 but unfortunately was camping next to a loud party of guys from Massachusetts who were up past 1am. I should have moved sites when I pulled in at 8pm and saw them. The campground was nearly empty.

We had a very disappointing stay at this campground. Despite having reserved our site (July 2-5), the previous camper remained parked there seven hours past check-out. The camp host initially argued that we didn't have the site reserved, even after we showed proof. The host finally checked the reservation list and contacted the previous camper, who was part of a group that reserved multiple sites (49, 51, 52, 53, 54).The previous camper, eventually moved their camper but left trash and a towel behind. We had to clean up their mess, and the camp host did not check on the site's cleanliness. On July 5th, the same group ran three generators until 3:30 AM despite being told to shut them down by the host. They initially complied but restarted them once the host left. The next night, they ran generators until 10:05 PM, only stopping because I confronted the host in the road with my complaints.During July 5th and 6th, the group had 4-6 vehicles per site, with guests staying until midnight. Their vehicles and boats were parked hazardously, half on and half off the road. A Jeep from their group repeatedly drove the wrong way down a one-way road on both days. On July 6th, we returned at 9 PM to find their guest's vehicle blocking our campsite entrance, and they refused to move it.The group also drank excessively both nights. When I asked the host for help with their rule violations, he casually opened a beer from his cooler and drank in front of me. Additionally, the neighboring campsite had an aggressive off-leash dog that entered our site three times, and their kids rode bikes through our site, agitating our leashed dog.Finally, on July 6th, a guest from the troublesome group entered our site and aggressively demanded I turn off my truck lights, as they were bothered while drinking and smoking in the road. The situation was unacceptable, and the lack of action from the camp host made it worse.

Its very quieter and private for the most part, I do wish they would have some electric sites so it would give people more options running a generator is costly and loud. The upkeep on the bathrooms was done well, in my opinion they are in need an upgrade it would entice more people to visit this campground instead of just the bath county side.

Not recommended till they fix some serious issues.

No host available to show us where the group site is as it's separate from the main camp. After a 3 hour drive and about a hour knocking on both host doors and looking we decided to find it on our own. Site had garbage including a used maxi pad. The group site neighbors were up until 2 am cursing and partying. Who should I complain to the host I couldn't find. Beautiful place but wouldn't stay here again.

Nice quiet camp. On top of a hill literally and the drive to it was beautiful. Great motorcycle ride to and from I-64. Would camp here again. Dont if you have to have cell coverage.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
