It was a very nice stay. The site we had was neat, clean and spacious. The only downside was that the quiet was disturbed by machine noise of the leaf blower that the camp host was constantly using. As I said the site was clean of leaves but at the cost of quiet.

Great as usual! Bear and copperhead warnings at the gate but didnt see either. Great site I had cell service and a great window for Starlink!

Sherando Lake is a beautiful campground, with nice big campsites, trails, and the lake for fishing.

Loved being out in the field. Showers were warm and clean. Lake area was shockingly beautiful.

This is a beautiful campground in a great setting. The sites are level and spacious, and easy to access. No water hookups, but there are communal spigots throughout, and a central fill station (with threaded spigot) that you pass on the way in. Note that it is NOT near the dump station. The staff keeps the campground clean and organized.

Fantastic campsite. The plots are all gravel and level with lots of space. The toilet and shower facilities are clean and water hot. The surroundings are beautiful with some great hikes close by and the site itself is very quiet and well kept. We really enjoyed out 2 nights there

Very limited cell service with AT&T and no service with Verizon. If you go up to the dam at the upper lake you get better AT&T reception, unknown about Verizon at that location.Very beautiful location and quiet.

Beautiful campground, quiet and isolated. We have stayed here over several years, a hidden gem. Wish it didn't closed in October for the season. No Firewood and no Ice available when the lake is not open during the swimming season.

The staff was welcome and helpful. It was our first time camping here, and we greatly appreciated that. The campground was also amazing.

This was a great place for a weekend camping trip!!! We got to swim in a gorgeous clean lake in the middle of the mountains, and the campsites and restrooms were well maintained and clean. There are couple of good hikes around with waterfalls and swimming holes. Cant wait to be back up here again!!

Beautiful campground! We were there at Fall Peak and the leaves were just beautiful! Loved the hiking in the area. The wash houses were very nice and very clean.

Beautiful, quiet setting with spacious camp site. We camped in a 26ft fifth wheel and were quite pleased. The Blue Loop Trail was a great hike with some nice views, but the White Rock Gap trail was not marked very well.

Great campground and facilities. It’s so nice to still be able to camp with space around, near beautiful trails, and with clean bathhouses! The bathrooms were always clean but the shower heads really need to be replaced—they spray everywhere except where they should, and I ended up wasting so much water just so I could rinse my hair. I would also love to see a dish sink somewhere nearby. Finally, the trail maps seem to be a bit of in distance, and we almost got in trouble without adequate water. It was almost a mile longer than marked.

But at the end of the day, I’d go back again!

The faculty is very friendly and they keep the grounds up well. The sites are small, especially with a large 5th wheel. The overall experience is good. Hopefully the knucklehead playing a radio at his campsite all freakin day will be back in his underground hole by the time you reserve your space!

Camp hosts were always available, friendly & knowledgeable -- which made our stay exceptional!!!
Quick drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway (right out the gate and a quick left) and if you continue to the east side of the ridge -- to Nelson County Rte 151 -- with lots of great choices for the discerning palate... or to satisfy your curiosity for what's exclusively on tap
Only the RV site Meadow loop was open (and Day Use restrictions imposed) during our stay, giving us the very unusual experience of having the extensive trails and beautiful lake beach to ourselves.
We're coming back in the fall -- see you then!

Great campsite (C3) beautiful walking trails around lakes and moderate hike to Blue Ridge Parkway. Waterfall on east side of parkway was strenuous but waterfall was gorgeous. Host was great. Loved the isolation. Lots of birds singing

Extremely clean bathrooms and grounds. The host raked and cleaned each campsite after every camper vacated prior to a new camper arrival. Numerous breweries, wineries and cider restaurants within 15-20 miles from campground to enjoy afternoons or evenings. You don't have to cook at at your campsite every night although that is fun too.
