Hidden (literally) gem. Second visit. Excellent campground and hiking trails, though the upper lake trail had a foot bridge out from Helene.The drive in may be a challenge for larger rigs. Our 25' class C had on problem.

The campsites at Sherando are always well groomed, clean and ready for the next campers. The bath house is also cleaned daily and always in great shape. The camp hosts do an amazing job. Perfect lake setting for swimming and kayaking and the hiking trails are great! Sherando is a real gem!

We found the host and ranger unfriendly and unwilling to meet our request to change our site to ones that were newly available. We left after one night, instead of staying for two.

Great sites available, very clean bathrooms and warm showers. No wi-fi or cell coverage within 10 miles!Full electric for RV's but water hookup not available at the sites themselves.Top up your water tank using a standard connection at a single location near the amphitheater.Dump station on the main camp road on the way out.

The park was nicely groomed, the bathrooms were clean, host was pleasant and chatted, it was quiet ( a plus), and the sites themselves were clean, level, and a decent distance apart! We will definitely go again!

Its been 30 years since I tent camped here, this time with 25' travel trailer. Great RV sites in loop "C". Overall beautiful camping and site seeing. Large and clean facilities!! Highly recommended, we'll be back soon.

I love this Forest Service campground. There are great trails to explore in the area. The sites are widely spaced with water and electricity. The showers and rest rooms are clean and in good condition. Only complaint is that the showers have these crazy buttons you have to keep pushing.

We enjoyed our extended family camping experience at Sherando Lake. The weather was great , and the camp sites were wonderful. We hiked and fished and went swimming , and ate yummy snacks around the campfire. A perfect place to reconnect with family , and enjoy the great outdoors!

Beautiful, large campsites. Designated parking areas are flat and easy to spot a camper on. Campground Host was phenomenal and provided excellent tips on things to do in the area.

Unfortunately it was too windy to take our kayak's out so we did a lot of walking - very nice trails. The day area was close due to covid during our visit - which in our opinion probably made it a better experience. We heard it's very crowded when the day area is open.
