We stayed in loop A. Most sites in loop A had a short set of steps that had to be used to get into the camp but our did not. You could not see the lake from our site but it was a quick walk to the swim beach. There were lots of opportunities to hike close to loop A as well.

I have camped here for as long as I can remember. We used to do a huge group camping trip with probably over 50 families, but now I go with just one campsite and bring a few friends and family. It is a great spot with a lot of campsites, yet still decent privacy. All of the sites are located far enough apart that you feel like you have your own space. It is a happy medium between glamping and hardcore backpacking. Our site did not have electricity or running water, but there was a spicket just a short walk away. There are bathrooms and showers if needed. The campsite is very family-friendly and and quaint. I keep returning to Sherando lake because it is easy to access and has a very pleasant setting.

This is a beautiful peaceful campground. I heard wolves howling and some sort of cat (bobcat? cougar) growling in the distance. Instructions to access the campground and find my reserved spot were clear and accurate. The campground itself was very clean, and I appreciated the bear-proof food storage compartments.

We caught this lovely campground on a Monday-Wednesday when there was about 20 people. Not only the campsite, but also all open facilities (some were closed due to the global pandemic) were very clean and in working condition. This is a gem of a spot right off the BRP. I hear it gets crowded on weekends, but if you can catch it during the week, you will not be disappointed! ***NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR RESERVATION PRINTED OR SAVED WITH THE ACCESS CODE AS WE HAD ZERO CELL SERVICE ON SITE***

Wonderful location and facilities! Our only comment for improvement would be to add photos or some kind of measure for how large the spaces are. I had reserved what I thought was a double campsite and when we arrived I was taken aback at how small it was. In fact, it may be one of the smallest sites I've ever camped at (we were at A 06). We made it work, but I wish we'd known the size ahead of time.

Other than that, we loved the location of the actual site. The camp hosts were awesome and helped us in getting firewood delivered to our site. They were awesome!

The ranger was very nice, the campsite was central and yet felt secluded and had nice views, and the bathrooms were very clean! Also it felt 30 degrees cooler in the middle of a heat wave, so 5 stars all the way!!!
