The St Lucie South campground was awesome!! It was clean, quiet and the river is beautiful to just sit and enjoy. Watching the boats go through the lock was cool too. If the ocean is your thing, its only a handful of miles away. My only complaint is that I didnt see an alligator close up. Which in reality is a good thing.

Small number of sites, very quiet and scenic.

I love the campground and would have given it 5 stars, EXCEPT for the giant Donald Trump flag flying over the campground. I was amazed, offended and appalled!!I did not think political signage like this was allowed on federal land. It was so large and high that it looks like the campground flag. When I saw it was flown from a private individual's camper I called the hosts to ask them to have it taken down, I also asked the volunteer at the visitor's center to report it to the park ranger. But, sure enough, it was flying high the next day.If I could attach something to this I will show you the video, if I post it on line I will let you know.It actually ruined the end of my stay.

Beautiful location. Very well kept premises. Men's urinal needed better cleaning, but there was a stall with basin that was nice and clean so I used that instead. Great cycling and hiking all around. Friendly folks for sure.

Amazing, peaceful and relaxing... except for the mosquitos, they are relentless at dusk and dawn. Really enjoyed the camp grounds, bathrooms are great, filter water taps, clean and beautiful lawns. Okeechobee about a hour drive both ways and lots to explore around Stuart. Great weekend away watching boats enter and exit the locks! Next time ill book a RV camp site for $10 more to have electricity and run big fans to keep mozzies at bay. Jacques was the best, Thanks again!

It's always nice camping on a FL waterway.

Very helpful staff. Very nice campground with clean restrooms. Beautiful mornings watching sun rise and mist over waterways.

In general the staff are failing to fix things in a timely fashion. Broken toilet paper dispenser in the men’s room and a missing pedestal grill on campsite T3. No sense of urgency for these things getting fixed.

St Lucie South campground was very nice for the one-night stay for us (2 adults, 3 kids). We were at tent site No.1, and it was great being along the canal, with a beautiful sunset, boats plying the waterway, and a visit from the local 5-foot alligator (apparently some campers feed it, so it poked around our site, but did not come too near). The mosquitoes were pretty bad at dusk, but we got a fire going in the provided firepit so they went away. the picnic table and curbed, packed-gravel tent area is a plus, and the bathhouse was small but clean. Neighbors (mostly RV campers) were very nice, so overall a good experience.

Nice camping with clean bathrooms and camping areas. Neighbours were noisy

It was a great campground with clean facilities and gorgeous landscape. We did enjoy ships passing by the canal. It was quiet and very conveniently located to the ocean.

Small and quiet on the water. Minimal to the best extent.
