Beautiful campground. Well kept and very clean. A very quiet location. Watching the boat traffic locking through was very interesting. We had a small boat and really enjoyed the waterway.

Wonderful place to relax, watch boats, sunset skies in a neat, clean, quiet campground and enough to coastal beaches.

Really enjoyed our stay . well kept grounds and pleasant staff.Only thing lacking is washing machines. Would be nice to have, like the state parks.

WP is one of our favorite CORE campgrounds. Sites are always clean. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Good water views. Can't ask for more!

We have visited W.P. Franklin many times and have always enjoyed our stay. We do not live very far away from the park and find that we use it for a few days of rest and relaxation. It is a nice quiet and peaceful time for us and use our time to play games and watch the boats travel the locks. We do explore the area quite often and the City of Ft. Myers is very near if you are looking for restaurants and a little more activity. Very nice, clean park!

The park/camp itself is very nice. Roomy area for each camper, well maintained grounds. The only issue is people don’t seem to realize (don’t care) that their dogs barking, even a yap here and there, is a nuisance and takes away from the peaceful experience.

The site was beautiful, and clean. The hosts were informative and super nice. I would totally go there again.

After having been to over 50 state parks for the summer while operating as full timers we came upon our last stop at WP Franklin on our way to our RV final stop for the next six month. This place we found it to be a hidden gem. Incredibly clean, perfectly configured with friendly staff and a unique view of the lock and dam built by the Corps Of Engineers. We loved it so much we can't wait to revisit.

We just bought our travel trailer and this was our first time using it. Great experience here. check in was great and staff was great.
Very easy place for beginner to pull a trailer into. We loved the campground being surrounded by water. Already made a second reservation there.

You just can't beat a Corp of Engineer's campground, and Franklin Locks North in Alva, Florida, is NO exception, especially when it comes to their camp hosts. While we were setting up, we had a bit of an emergency with our awning. Out of nowhere, Pat Walton showed up to give us a hand bringing it in. Unfortunately, the wind caught it and destroyed it. She quickly found us a ladder and checked on us several times to make sure we were ok and didn't need anything else. Her husband was just as helpful , and also checked on us many times. No matter how busy they were, they always had a few minutes to stop and chat. This is probably our most favorite campground, and because of the Walton's, we will be returning time and time again. Franklin Locks North will not disappoint, especially if the Walton's are in residence.
