The campground hosts were friendly and helpful. There isn't a bad site. During the peak winter season you need to make your reservation as soon as your plans ae set.

Beautiful campground! Andrew, one of the host is a hard worker. We see him out working on the days he is off. The grounds are nicely cut and the bathrooms are clean. I feel safe there due to both host that keep a check on who is coming in and out.

This is our first ever reservation at an Army Corps of Engineers Campground. BEAUTIFUL and peaceful with stunning sunsets! The area is very well kept and has very clean restroom facilities. Sites are spacious and with a covered picnic table and fire grilling pit. All of the staff Volunteers are so friendly and helpful on-site, THANK YOU Mike and Bob! Lots of wild life around, loved the turtles! Fun to see the boat traffic going thru the locks. Really enjoying our stay, wish we discovered it years ago! Can't wait to come back!

This is a beautiful campground, run by wonderful people! It is well cared for and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff. With plenty of options for recreation - camping, fishing, and small craft boating. My son also really enjoyed learning about the W.P Franklin Lock and Dam system. There is an observation deck on the south side of the Caloosahatchee River.

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and peaceful this campground is. Even though the layout has the sites close together and there is a very popular boat launch and fishing pier, it seemed to me that we were practically alone with a clean well kept water front site. I will definitely be returning.

Campground did not look as cared for as in the past. It looked sad and worn. Hurricane Ian was not the issue. There are many weeds in the gravel patio area. Sites don't appear to be raked or cleaned up between campers. Campers were complaining about these two issues. Goodwill Industries has a people clean the bathrooms for less than an hour. I never saw the hosts come around and talk with campers. Hosts did their reservation jobs but were not friendly. Mixed experience. Florida State parks much friendlier.

I hate to rate it at 3 stars and I only do so because of our experience with the volunteer that was in charge the day we left. She appeared to be the type when told, you are in charge she gets a little overzealous with her authority. Maybe they could screen the volunteers a little better? As we were packing up to leave I was having issues with the tongue jack. I ask the wife to let them know at the gate that we were having issues and may be delayed in our departure. The wife went to the lady at the gate booth to explain we were having some issues and immediately she barked at my wife I Dont care you have to be out in one hour. My wife tried to ask her what we were to do if we could not get it fixed and again she said she didnt care that it was out problem and she was going to report us to the ranger. By the time the ranger arrived I had it fixed and we were hooked up and ready to go. I explained the issue and he could not have been nicer. The volunteer told him that my wife had gotten rude with her. All the wife said to her was that she did not have to be nasty that we were doing the best we could and maybe a little understanding and empathy might be in store rather than being rude. We love this place and we wont let one power hungry volunteer ruin it for us. We will wait for her term to be up before we go back. As I said the ranger could not have been nicer and more understanding of our situation and he agreed that she should have been more empathetic of our situation and she should not have said that she did not care. We were definitely caught of guard by her response and lack of understanding.
