One of our favorite parks! All waterfront clean level spots. Excellent value. Park attendants are great. A little tight pulling in with the picnic table roof so go slow. Fishing was fun just wish I had hooked that slot Snook!

We enjoyed our time @ W P Franklin. We stayed there 3 nights and the campground was very clean and well maintained. The staff we met were helpful and very nice and the bathrooms were very clean. It 's awesome to have almost all waterfront sites at this campground. It is near enough to many activities and Fort Myers. We would stay again

My wife and I love the place and only wish we could stay longer. It's close to everything in Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Pine Island and Sanabel. It is also very quiet and is right next to the river.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. It was our first time there. The staff oriented us to the campground and made sure we had all the information we needed.

Just a beautiful place to camp and enjoy the river. The site was well maintained and plenty of room. The bathhouse next to the boat ramp obviously gets more use and is older, only one shower and a very slow drain made for a quick shower to avoid standing in water. The hosts welcomed us our first night, we had to change sites for our second night.

Love it

One of the nicest, well kept over all campgrounds (Army Corp or state park/private) we have ever stayed at. While we did not utilize the bathrooms or showers, we did check them out, and they were immaculate. The grounds were kept well trimmed and each site is level concrete. Our only wish was more mature shade trees. Camping in south Florida in July is pretty brutal in full sun. The volunteer hosts were helpful and friendly. They’re willing to chat if you wish to engage, or leave you alone if you didn’t want to talk.

Best campground in Florida
@JustineM188 · Camped on May 21, 2021 at Campsite #11
Pros:
campground is well-maintained
clean bathrooms
beautiful sunrises and sunsets on the river
fishing/ boat ramp in the campground
quiet and peaceful
Cons:
Many campsites have very little privacy or are very close to their neighbor
Stadium-level lighting at night, makes it hard to sit out and watch the river or the stars in the dark when you are lit up like a landing strip. Depending on your spot, you may need black-out curtains if you like it dark to sleep.
No nature trails, but you can drive down the road a few minutes to Caloosahatchee Regional Park (no dogs)

Best campground we have been to - period. Within an hour of the gulf - depending on traffic of course. We loved Mel's Diner and Buffet City (great Chinese buffet), both on Rt. 41 in Ft. Myers near Page Field Airport.
