We really appreciated the clean and well kept environment. The volunteer and paid staff were very helpful and courteous. We will be looking for more camps that were developed by the Corp of Engineering.

Love coming here for a relaxing stay. The hosts are friendly, the bath house clean, and the water and electric hookups well maintained. This time there were zillions of flying insects, but not too surprising since it is early summer and very warm. This location is just a few short miles to Caloosahatchee Regional Park and that offers biking and hiking (on the North side of River Road) and a nice park with a walking trail and picnic facilities on the South side. Close to Babcock Ranch if you like to try a restaurant meal and a stroll around the Square. There is a Publix now on the South side of the community, only a few miles from the campground. Right in the campground there is fishing and boating for guests. Enjoy!

The sites are very well maintained; the views are spectacular. You may see eagles, manatees, dolphins and alligators, like we did.

We had an excellent 3 night stay at WP Franklin campground. The place is immaculately kept up. We loved site #5 on the River. The bathrooms were very clean too. Best of all was Carlos, the volunteer who checked us in. He was friendly , professional and helpful. My husband lost his phone the last day and Carlos did everything possible to assist in finding it. He went above and beyond being helpful until after hours of searching, we found the phone. We couldnt have found it without his help. Were looking forward to another stay at this beautiful campground! Thank you.

W.P. Franklin North is a island campground in the middle of the Coloosahatchee River a short drive from Ft Meyers. The access road goes over a ithsmas to the park. It has a large open grassy area in the center and sites are perimeter located. Many sites have trees for shade in the warmer periods. This is a 40+ site campground, so you never feel "packed in" like sardines. It was a nice experience and we reserved a site to return in the Spring. Recommended.
