W.P. Franklin is a very well kept campground and facilities. The camp hosts are friendly and helpful. This campground also has 8 slips for boats. We have been going there for 14 yrs. at least twice a year fall and spring. Grocery shopping is about 5 to 6 miles away. You are about a half hour from Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Both places have great restaurants and plenty to do and see. This campground is on the Caloosahatchee River with west end of the campground is salt water and the east end is fresh water. Watching the boats lock through the Franklin Lock is very interesting.

Nice site, close to Ft Myers downtown. Wish it could hold more campers, seems set up for the big ones.

We stayed in a boatslip. Lovely, quiet, clean and peaceful. Also a great place to wait out windy weather in Ft Myers area.

W.P. Franklin is one of our favorite places to visit. We come by boat not in an RV. The hosts are always very friendly and helpful. We have coming to W.P. for over 11yrs. at least twice a year once in the fall and again in the spring. The grounds and facilities are always clean and neat. If you come by boat I recommend to are supplied up as there are no close stores or restaurants. We have had some of the campers offer to take us to the store when they go. We highly recommend W.P. Franklin. I like the idea of all the sites/slips are reservation only so you can look at see what is available.

We have been coming to W.P. Franklin for over 12 yrs. We have made friends with many people and the volunteers. The volunteers are always friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and well taken care of. I do miss W.P. not having their washer and dryer. That was very convenient as we travel by boat. The campers have a dump station and it would be wonderful if they put in a pump out station for the boaters. We highly recommend W.P. Franklin.

The Volunteer Donna Mouser was outstanding!! She was kind helpful and caring. She recommended Fantastic places to eat , was so helpful to use as this was our first time there. It will not be our last!! It was a great place and Joe was kind and helpful as well.

We stayed at the boat docks which have water and electric. This dockage is especially nice because there's a very nice, large picnic pavilion with tables and grills for the boaters to use. They even have a fire pit for nighttime campfires. The shower closest to the boat docks have two toilets and one shower, which is handicap-accessible. The showers further down, in the camping area have more showers.
