Great visit, but need laundry facilities. When staying for 14 days laundry is certainly needed. It very expensive to do laundry outside a campground. It cost us over $20 for just 2 peoples laundry for a week. Most COEs have laundry facilities even if its 2 washers. Beautiful view

Very nice sites, peaceful, clean bathrooms. Just wish it had doggie waste station or at least garbage cans to throw out waste without having to go all the way to the dumpster.

First time at W.P. Franklin and can't wait to go back, very clean and peaceful place, the caretakers couldn't have been more helpful with everything, we even purchased an America the Beautiful pass thanks to them which we intend to use regularly.

This is such a beautiful, peaceful campground. Easy in and out, great sites and so beautifully maintained. If you like to fish, this is your place. You are just minutes from a Publix and gas stations. Great hiking a few miles down the road Caloosahatchie Regional park. 20 minutes to Fort Myers. I cannot recommend this park enough!

Love this quiet Army Corp of Engineer RV Park on the Caloosahatchee River in a rural setting not too far from Ft. Myers. It's great for kayaking. Got to see a crocodile and alligator as well as manatees right near our camp site. It's fun to watch the boats go through the lock. Great fishing off the pier. The facilities are clean. The Boathouse and Tiki Bar restaurant, a great place for drinks and food is only 15 minutes down the road. The only things I would like to see changed is the amount of lighting around the campground and doggy bag stations available and less lighting. The lights are glaring and unnecessarily over abundant.

Excellent, relaxing facilities that are well-cared-for. Clean washrooms. We recommend "Two-Peas Restaurant" for breakfast or lunch near the local Walmart.

Very nice infrastructure at this small park with friendly staff. All the sites are on the water. The dump station is very awkward especially for tote tanks. There is nothing to do here but there is a preserve just down the road with bike and hiking trails. The water looked pretty dirty and there were signs warning about toxic algae and algaecide being applied to the water. The river has clearly been turned into a big ditch with all the environmental consequences. I believe this water way has been sited as a source for nutrients that cause red tides on the west coast because it drains the polluted water from the Okeechobee lake directly into the bay and gulf. With no benefit of filtering that results from a natural river the nutrient load is unabated. Of course the problem is much more extensive than just this ditch but this review is about the park on the ditch.

This was the most beautiful and peaceful camping experiences we've ever had. The grounds are perfectly maintained. The river, dam and lock provide a relaxing and captivating views! What a different experience from camping in the woods!

Hosts are very helpful. Campground was very clean including the facilities. Highly recommended
We were there to visit family so we didn't get to try any nearby restaurants but there are a couple (down 31) we would try next time. We did get to go to the Babcock Ranch community not far from the campground on the Friday evening we were there, and enjoyed the food trucks. We loved the site we had for our TT, campground hosts were friendly, and facilities were clean.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
