I always enjoy my camping trips to Ortona & Franklin. I was disappointed, in the lack of progress to repairs of the fishing pier and footbridge. I hope those projects are given some attention soon. I will say that campsites and bathhouses were kept very clean and that the camp hosts were very friendly.

CAMPSITES CLEAN WELL LAID OUT. BATH/SHOWER HOUSE VERY CLEAN. MOST SITES COULD USE MANY MORE SHADE TREES. OOPS Sorry about cap lock being on. Still hate sites being marked as reserved but stand vacant for days.

Ortona south is my go to place to camp. Its a beautiful, quiet place-rangers and staff are informative, friendly and very helpful. I hope the fishing pier and bridge will be repaired soon! The location is excellent- close to food markets, restaurants, etc.

Quiet location away from a lot of noise and light pollution. Our second year staying at Ortona and will try again next year. It was disappointing that the fishing pier and the footbridge over the canal were closed. No issues getting Amazon deliveries there.

Site 38. Bathrooms across from site very clean showers worked well and clean. We found bathrooms and showers near site 17 where we previously stayed nasty and barely working. Staff calls it the ghetto side of the park. Those bathrooms definitely need attention. Overall campground lively staff wonderful and accommodating. Internet not that good. We love ortona south

The site locations are great, beautiful view of the canal. My only problem was, it stated on the map there were two docks to fish from. There was only one, and to be honest it should be condemned. The pylons were either worn down to nothing or not existent. They also had the locks shut down for viewing due to security issues? This was not disclosed ahead of time.

Everything was clean and orderly. The bright lights in the evening did block the stars. The locks were very interesting and is was nice to hear the Limpkin cry.

Great campground. Large sites. A few Troubles with bathrooms and a LOT of local truck traffic make it a 4 fir us this time. Nice staff. Locks are fascinating.

The people were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately one of the loops was closed for electrical work which limited some of our options. Overall it was a great experience.

We enjoyed a few days of peace and quiet here. Not much to do in the immediate area, but we did manage to explore a bit. The small town of LaBelle does have a few interesting sites, but the history museum is being remodeled so will have to save that for next time. Quite a few people were fishing and boating, but we mostly just lazed around. Saw an otter in the little creek that feeds into the river. Got to talk to the lockmaster a few minutes and understood better the process of raising and lowering boats. Even saw a manatee waiting his turn to be let through!

Large, roomy campsites with easy access and lots of space between sites. The bathrooms are always clean and are modern with good ventilation. It's always interesting to watch the lock in action and the campground is very pet friendly for taking a walk. We don't remember if we had issues with cell phone service. Satellite dish worked fine.

Very enjoyable campground. Endured severe tornado warning during our two day stay. Unfortunately, our 14 day reservation was cut to 2 days due to maintenance. This affected half of the camp sites for 2 weeks and then the other sites for 2 weeks.

The camping spots were very spacious. It was awesome to be able to walk or ride a bike over to the locks and watch the boats come in and out. Also the interactive video set up there under cover was very interesting. I watched them all and recorded part of it to put it on Facebook. The couple that checked us in were also very helpful. When I had questions they were very happy to answer them. I will be going back again in the future.

We like most everything about this campground . We were in a camper vav. All the major boxs were very good . mostly flat, good to very good Bathrooms, host friendly and helpful.
We did not use the water, there no sewer hook-up ( which we knew ahead of time ). Biking was good ,that's important to us.
We enjoyed watching to boats lock through!
Thanks

Very nice park. Only downside was the fire ants in areas around the cement slab. Our feet were getting bit.

Always enjoy being at Ortona. Great park, plenty of open space, and you get to watch the boats running up and down the waterway. Bathrooms are clean and the grounds are very well maintained.
